"Trojan detected by comodo antivirus"
Version: Expstudio Audio Editor Free 4.31
Pros
fast
full of featuresCons
you can only edit one track at a time
Summary
this software would have 4 stars from me but the Trojan thing sucks
-
"More than enough for the average home user!"
Version: Expstudio Audio Editor Free 4.31
Pros
That it isn't a limited time trial.
Cons
A professional sound engineer could probably find something wrong.
Summary
It enables the casual home user to record and/or edit sound files. It far surpasses 'recorder' in functionality and is good for some basic fun with sound.

"Trojan Attached"
Version: Expstudio Audio Editor Free 4.31
Pros
None since it has a trojan attached
Cons
ummm contains a virus
Summary
I went to install and my avg said a trojan was attached. It moved it to my virus vault and wouldn't let me install. I would suggest looking somewhere else.

"Worked great for me."
Version: Expstudio Audio Editor Free 4.31
Pros
Very easy to use if you have any familiarity with sound files (and maybe even if you don't). Natural selecting, editing, deletion, etc. FREE!
Cons
Nothing for my limited usage so far.
Summary
I just wanted to edit down a foreign language CD to what I really needed to practice. Expstudio Audio Editor was great to use for this purpose. I was able collect the track I needed, delete the portions I didn't want and then save them. I did this for several tracks and then patched it all together with "paste from file." I then raised the maximum volume level for the set and saved it to my computer. Thanks for a handy product!

"Not as FREE as it says"
Version: Expstudio Audio Editor Free 4.31
Pros
Does everything that I need to edit my music files. It's actually pretty easy to use.
Cons
It's not free when you're limited to what you can do until you purchase the "pro" version. The basic limits you to saving to mp2 and wav. $30 usd if you want pro.

"Installs a 'Dealio Toolbar', bad news, Google 'Dealio'"
Version: Expstudio Audio Editor Free 4.31
Pros
Stopped the download when Dealio tried to change my registry. 'Snoopfree' informed me of privacy invasion too.
Cons
Same as above. I suggest that you do not risk downloading this software.
Summary
I've has the Dealio virus before and had to wipe my computer and re-install Windows, its a keylogger and very difficult to remove. I just hope its not installed again. I have Snoopfree and Spybot running at present and both alerted me to problems when Expstudio was downloading.
I can recommend Free Audio Editor, but because the free version will only let you save as WAV files, I use QuickMediaConverter to change them. BOTH are free and outstanding.
