Pros
I needed a quick inventory of my cpu. Used this and I'm set. Free and quick. They also have an online version of it which is also helpful. I couldn't find anything that it missed either.
Cons
Rescans every time I open, but I guess I could save the data to document like they provide. It requires IE, especially the online version, and the online version requires some futzing with settings. The downloadable takes you straight to the goods.
Summary
The PC Scan didn't miss anything. It's a light download and a good application to have on hand when you need to get a look at what your CPU is loaded with. I like the widget that you can use to show off your cpu, but I don't really know what I'd use it for.
The information is the key. It was accurate and reliable. I've used this now on 10 different machines and it has helped me diagnose a few problems that I've had concerns over. Overall its a good free usable tool that I'd recommend to anyone who knows why you should want to know about your PC's inventory.
