"Excellent invoicing for a small business."
Pros
This is far better than I expected any free invoicing software to be. Data entry is very flexible, and the interface is very slick. Quotes, orders, invoices, tax calculations, payment application, and reporting are all there and work great.
Cons
It comes with links to many install-on-demand softwares. That's better than installing them, but it's still a little irritating. They don't actually install, though, so it's well worth it. Besides, some of those others are actually pretty good too.
Summary
I wish I could add free ($0.00) items to invoices, and instead I have to give discounts equal to whatever prices I assign them, and I wish the outgoing emails could be automatically copied to another address. A receipt generator would also be a great addition. Other than that, this software meets or exceeds all my needs.
The install-on-demand stuff that it comes with is tangential at best and non sequitur at worst. Still, some of it is pretty nice. I just wish it wasn't quite so in-yo-face. It's easy to look past, though, when the software itself is such high quality. I am very impressed. Within the software itself, all those extras are behind an icon that you never have to click. Links to them are installed in your Start Menu, however, and that's very poor netiquette.
I will only be using it for invoicing and payment application and tracking and perhaps for statement generation. For those uses, I can say it's quite excellent. It has an excellent integration to email and online faxing.
Other features I can't speak to include quoting and ordering. They look to be equally well-desigined, but I haven't used them and so can't say for sure.
Over-all, I'm very satisfied. It would have gotten 5 stars if not for the ancillary programs it wants to foist off on you.
