Express Invoice is a tool for creating invoices and managing bills for small businesses. Its simple layout and helpful options make it a great program for keeping an eye on finances.
We found the program to be instantly inviting, with its functions clearly labeled and helpful onscreen instructions popping up along the way to express what data needed to be placed where. We were able to quickly populate a customer database with all billing information, build our warehouse of sale items from scratch, and apply both of these aspects toward creating an invoice. We were pleased with the professional and highly readable look of our invoices. They were perfect for printing and including with a sale. The program also offered simple tools for creating quotes and order forms, which have the same basic appearance as the invoice. Express Invoice also provided an extensive report-running feature. Here we could look at outstanding payments, current inventory, and much more.
Express Invoice is a freeware program. It comes as a compressed file, installs desktop icons without permission, and leaves behind folders after uninstall. We loved the program's simplicity and recommend it.

Express Invoice is professional invoicing software for Windows that allows you to manage client accounts, create invoices, and apply payments. You can then print, e-mail, or fax your invoices to your clients directly from the application. This software allows you to create re-occurring invoices for ongoing services and link to credit card gateways to easily process payments for goods and services.
Express Invoice also includes a number of standard reports such as unpaid accounts, payments, sales person, accounting reports. Express Invoice allows you to send invoices by e-mail or fax. Automatically send statements to customers with overdue payments. Configure the layout of invoices including the invoice title, alignment, font size, and foot comment.
What's new in this version: Improved the .csv file import dialog window and added bar code scanner support.

they sting you with the version updates, even the minor ones!
Summary
Bought the license for this software 6 months aqo for around $69, downloaded a routine minor update from 3.6x to 3.7x (just bug fixes - no new features), a message came up after update saying my license wasn't valid for the new version and that I would need to purchase an upgraded license. The support page states that if you are not happy with that you can always revert to the older version you originally paid for - assuming you had backed it up - as they don't offer a download link to any older version. Really this is a very shoddy way to treat paying customers - charging for bug fixes 6 months after purchase.

Seemed to work well. My wife used it for her sewing business. (Sole proprietor.)
Cons
Before downloading the NCH web page stated that the express version was free for businesses with fewer than 5 employees. Not so, expired after 14 days. (Checked to see what the full version costs and found out it is $69, wonder when that one expires?) I am now in the doghouse for setting her up with software from a less than reputable company and she can't create invoices until I find something new. (Not a good move on Valentines day!)
