"Sitting doing nothing - that's a good thing"
Version: ExploitShield Browser Edition 0.7 beta
Pros
It's very unobtrusive. It just sits there, until something happens.
Cons
Not a con actually... but it would be useful if this app had a "self-test" capability that showed the user how it would react to an attempted exploit.
Summary
When I installed this app, it minimized itself to a "Z" on my status bar, where it has sat ever since. Double-clicking the icon shows me that no intrusions have taken place. It's quiet, has no "configuration" requirements, and hopefully is doing its job. Until an exploit tries to attack my machine, there's not much else I can say about this app.
-
"Seems to be doing the job as advertised."
Version: ExploitShield Browser Edition 0.7 beta
Pros
Have not been using long enough to be truly critical of the app. Satisfied so far.
Cons
The one bug I have found is when clicking a link , especially in my email, it will open Internet Explorer but will only have a blank page. Must right click and tell it to open link in browser, orr double click the link which sometimes still does not work.
Summary
Satisfied so far, but need more experience with the app.
-
"Early days but no worries yet."
Version: ExploitShield Browser Edition 0.7 beta
Pros
I am getting less interruption in my browswer activity, so that's good.
Cons
I don't like that it completely shuts down my computer at midnight as start up is now slower than usual. Maybe I just need to adjust my settings...
Summary
Having this program makes me feel more secure, but frankly as I get no alerts about it's activity, I let it run and just forget it.

"Didn't Do Anything For Me"
Version: ExploitShield Browser Edition 0.7 beta
Pros
Free - So Try It For Yourself
Cons
Lots Of Things Got Pass This Program .
Summary
I Didn't Like It & Uninstalled It. I Didn't Find It Affective .
-
"seams good"
Version: ExploitShield Browser Edition 0.7 beta
Pros

Cons

Summary
Seams okay but i don`t go on random web sites and i use adblock so up to now it has not found or stop any exploits lol.. Not sure if this software is working or not or if my internet browsing habits are just safer then most ppl.

"So far, So good!"
Version: ExploitShield Browser Edition 0.7 beta
Pros
Very simple to install, just install it & forget it! Difficult to judge how well it works, but will give it a 5-star now.
Cons
None as of yet, but has only been installed for a few weeks, if that.
Summary
One more way to protect your computer. Easy install & light on resources. It's effectiveness will be determined after some time has past and users report their experience. So, no problems.

"Simple, Efficient, a"
Version: ExploitShield Browser Edition 0.7 beta
Pros
Runs in background as a tray icon. It helps to block a lot of possible malware in a variety of applications too. I've always wondered if my virus-protection program was enough but this seems to finish the deal. It's easy to open and easy to manage everything in it.
It protects all the Browser stuff like Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer (great for those who haven't updated IE yet..), Opera, Java, and any components featured in the browser like when one opens a PDF, views a Flash, etc..
Note: Applications with a 'lock' on them are shielded. Since this is the browser edition, the other software, such as Adobe Reader and Microsoft Office are not because they have an opened lock on them (General tab says only 6 applications are shielded, and there are 6 applications with a lock symbol).
Shielded applications include: Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera, Java, and WebBrowser Components (PDF, FLASH, JAVA ...).Cons
None of this writing.
-
"Neat, simple application."
Version: ExploitShield Browser Edition 0.7 beta
Pros
Installs and runs just fine. Right click on the tray icon to open up a simple window that shows what is being protected and how many attempted intrusions have been stopped.
I haven't come under attack, so I cannot review the program's efficacy, but it runs stably in the background using minimal resources- 0% CPU and 10.5MB of RAM.Cons
None to speak of.
-
"downloaded twice"
