1. It is lightweight
2. I do not have to use the cmd line every time. When you open this app, the first thing it asks you is the 2 files to be compared location
3. By default it uses notepad to open your files. However, you can specify even your fav. editor. I have set up scite, though the difference is not that great
4. Many good options...some are ignore whitespace, case, specify colors, etc....

It's easy! I searched, I downloaded, I installed and I ran it.
I would have done the job in 1 minute except I wanted to tell you how good it is!
I told it the two files, and it showed them side by side highlighting the difference. I clicked one button and it just showed be the differences.
So simple, so effective.
And the price is excellent.
Cons
It only shows me what line has changed. (Unless I need to read the help text :)
I was comparing a config file and needed to narrow it down, so I had to cut & paste each set of different records into word, insert line breaks, save to file, and compare those file.
Shame "show next differnce" click doesn't position to the character within the record that's different.
(I'll bet it can do that, so my critisism is that it isn't intuitive enough and I don't want to have to read the manual :)

Pros
Excellent in providing comparisons between .doc files. I particularly like the was in the case of identical files you get a message saying so and the option to quit immediately.
Cons
The bulk of my comparisons involve Excel files, and in the case of difference, the results are cryptic unless one knows the entire file layout. It might be my understanding of the options used. Still tinkering.
