    "works as advertised"

    Pros

    allows other formats besides flac
    accompanying software works, but only for ten times

    Cons

    top-heavy in programs needed in order to work-requires everything to be upgraded (.net framework, ex);
    can be difficult to install; some computeters get error messages

    Summary

    I got it installed on a new, powerful toshiba laptop, but when I tried to open the program I got an error message, and I didn't know how to solve it. I finally got it to work on a little asus notebook. didn't want to use the recommended flac format, so I used wav instead. I guess I also don't understand the difference between compressed flac and uncompressed wav formats. The authors make it all seem very very complicated, but I just use the basics, and it gets the job done; however, I actually couldn't tell the difference in sound quality...

    You can't tell the difference because there IS no difference. FLAC is a lossless CODEC. Unlike MP3 files, no information is lost when compressing. :D
