Version: Ewido Security Suite 3
"Very powerful Anti-Malware software"
Pros: C-Net should update this listing! The name of this terrific software has changed to Ewido Anti-Malware, and it has also greatly improved since the editor last reviewed it.
I bought the paid version of this, because even after the trial period expired I could still get an update at least once a day, and often I could get one or two more each day also.
This powerful app detects and destroys Hijackers, Spyware, Worms, Dialers, Trojans 'and' Keyloggers, and the paid version stands guard to prevent your computer from becoming infected.
Testing performed by knowledgeable people at Spyware Warrior showed that Ewido Anti-Malware was extremely effective against a very wide array of threats.
I highly recommend this application to everyone. Even after the trial expires, you can still update malware definitions at least once a day, and this leaves you with probably the most up to date malware scanner and remover there is. If that doesn't impress you enough to lay down the low price they ask for the complete version then nothing will.
You actually need this.
Cons: It does not find all malware, because no software can, and it wont do my laundry, wash the car, or make me rich and famous. Other than that I could not ask for a better malware scanner/remover, and the protection is pretty darn good too.

- Also quick in scanning (about 10 minutes)
- Excellent database
despite quick updates . Easily connects to its server
for updates
- Excellent in RAM & CPU usage : very unfrequent
peaks over 30% CPU , between 50% & 70% for
subfolders scan ; rarely over 90% .
- fairly high weight ( about 43Mbytes)
- quite good real time protection , may disrupt
other process running
- Simple interface : main window - updates -
scan - analysis - quarantine
- Easy to use as it's not particulary rich
in features
- only 2 languages (English-Deutsch)
Poor in features but excellent scan engine :
fast , deep scan & even low RAM & CPU usage ,
probably one of the best engine or even the best actually .
Cons: A few features & only 2 languages

"Discovers Threats Other Applications Can't"
Pros: I would really recommend downloadind this software, it's free! But beware it does use a lot of system resources!
Anyway, the main objective of this software is to detect and eliminate malware, spyware, trojans and riskware. Threats which sometimes go un-detected by an antivirus.
Cons: Scanning takes some time, and the software uses a lot recources as mentioned earlier, still it's worth a try

"Finds spyware etc others dont."
Pros: Nice and simple interface.Plentiful updates.Really does find spyware missed by other apps(especially Trojans).Even the freebie one is very very good.
Cons: As most reviewers on here have pointed out it is a litle slow to scan but at least its thorough!

Pros: Easy unstall and uninstall. I downloaded and installed ewido version 3.5 from their website and I think this version is a big difference from version 3, because negative comments are no longer applicable. Ewido anti malware 3.5 is probable the best anti trojan and fights also against spyware. It has a big database of more than 300.000 threats and Ewido is a strong complement for software like AVG Free, Sygate Personal Firewall, Ad-Aware SE Personal and RootkitRevealer.
Cons: The freeware version has no active shield and no automatic updates. The rest is the same as the paid version.
