Brilliant fast and comprehensive indexing of files.
Cons
Unfortunately it's not fully functional in Windows 7 but it does index all files i.e. can't access files from the search results/index list but it tells you where the searched file is located.
Summary
Good for finding file location in Windows 7. In my previous XP operating system if performed magnificently.

Very fast file indexing! It can index my 150GB C drive and my external 500GB (nearly full) in less than 30 seconds! It will not search inside files -- for me this is a plus.

This has simple interface but don't let that fool you, it can do complex searches as well. It can index my 150GB C drive and my external 500GB in less than 30 seconds! It will not search inside files -- for me this is a plus. I tried using Google Desktop, Windows Search and Copernic. They all have strengths, in fact, If i had to chose a 2nd runner up I'd chose Copernic. I like that the developer of Everything hasn't stopped developing it. In fact if you visit the forum you'll find a beta of the next version with more functionality. He listens and responds to posts.

Well I DLed it and tried it out and was impressed by the sheer speed of it. I only gave it a 4 because I haven't really drove it much yet, so I'm taking away a star just in case there is a bug I haven't come across yet.

I wish the developer would create desk band for the Windows task bar, so you could quickly search by typing your search into a box at the bottom of the screen, and not have to click on the Everything system tray icon. However, others may not care as much about this feature. If so, this is a speedy little search utility.

Summary
Having recently bought Windows 7, I was bitterly disappointed with the the built in search which repeatedly failed to find critical files that I needed to for the migration from a XP drive. This app is amazingly fast & has many excellent features. Try it!

great for search files - I've tried several other file search programs, but Everything is the fastest and uses little system resources

Will only search NTFS file structures. I would rate it 5 stars if it also indexed FAT file structure
