Events from Facebook is a standalone event discovery and social gathering coordination app that builds upon and improves Facebook's Events feature. Events are now front and center and more easily searchable.

Pros

More streamlined experience: In the Events from Facebook app, events are no longer buried in the More menu. Here they are the main attraction, so they are more easily searched and explored directly from your home screen.

Three different views: In the default Homepage view, you can scroll through events that friends are interested in or planning to attend, events created by your liked Pages, or updates for events you're already considering. Tap the Search button on the bottom rail to look for events by keywords, day, location, or category. Or you can tap on the adjacent Calendar button to view events by date.

Calendar integration: Track upcoming Facebook events with the in-app calendar, which enables you to see your social schedule at a glance. You may also add additional calendars from your phone to view alongside your Facebook events, so you never overcommit.

Easy setup: Events from Facebook uses your Facebook info to set up your account. You're then asked which event categories you're interested in. There are 18 to choose from, like Parties - Nightlife, Books - Literature, and Family Friendly. Choose the ones you're most interested in, so they'll come up more frequently in results. Then select your city, and you're good to go.

Cons

Facebook account required: You cannot use Events from Facebook without a Facebook account.

Yet another Facebook app to download: You may resent having to download yet another spinoff Facebook app.

Bottom Line

Events from Facebook does what the Facebook app fails to do. It makes event discovery easy and even fun.
