Summary
I bought the service, on the recommendation of CNET, in May of 2009. It took forever to get responses in "live" chat; in fact, I wasn't sure it was actual humans I was dealing with. They fixed the problem, I thought. Then I had another problem and asked for a refund. Of course, they gave me a bunch of doubletalk and asked for access to my computer again. I refused. Forgive me for not remembering the details of the transactions this much later.
HOWEVER, I was having issues with my computer in November, and a friend suggested downloading Malwarebytes (free download), which did a thorough scan of my computer. The whole time, only 2 errors came up. And then, 727--yes, 727--malware items came up in the Error Fix files. I don't know that this was the cause of my issues, but Malwarebytes got rid of the malware. And then I deleted the Error Fix files from my computer, which is now fine.
