"Does What it Say's"
Version: Eraser 5.7
Pros
Simply does what it says it does, at least version 5.85 did, see below
Cons
I had to download and install the 5.85 Beta from the writers web site to make it work on my Vista work station, (it's more than worth the trouble). That is why I didn't give it 5 Stars

"Simple But Good Erasing Tool"
Version: Eraser 5.7
Pros
(1) Permanently Erases Files
(2) Simple Interface
(3) Options to choose from 1 pass (Faster but less Secure Deletion ) to 35 pass (Slower but more Secure)
(4) You can use the inbuilt scheduler to schedule regular deletions
(5) Options to Erase All Unused Space on your Hard Drive
Cons
(1) My Computer Crashed once after using the "Delete Unused Space On Local Drive" but has been working fine since
(2) If you use Lesser Passes (1,3) for erasing, some files may be recoverable using Undelete Utilities
(3) Just Keep in mind that if you have utilities which restore system to a previous state like System Restore and Norton Go Back, some files may come back. (This is because these programs create a separate back up of all files)

"First time user, so far so good."
Version: Eraser 5.7

"Excellent Program"
Version: Eraser 5.7
Pros
Don't let the inept reviewers below fool you. This is an excellent program. The person below who claimed they could recover files clearly didn't bother to check the contents of those files - they are filler, fakes, phoney baloney.
After Eraser wipes your hard-drive, it fills up all empty space with files that LOOK like real files, then erases them. That way, any spies will find "thousands" of files, but they are all non-sense, though they do look "official" and "real." When people give negative reviews to products they have no understanding of it gives a bad name to excellent products.
Cons
I get the message about access being denied too. Other than that, its perfect.

"A Great Free Little Program"
Version: Eraser 5.7
Pros
I have been using this software since I had Win 98 and still using it with Win XP. I have shared this litltle software with many smal businesses in the Washington, DC area for some years. I am happy to find a free software, without spyware, that performs the way it should
Cons
I do not have a negative comment to make.

"Great program"
Version: Eraser 5.7
Pros
Eraser is a great program I have not experienced any problems. It works well with windows vista. Allows you to gain more free space than emptying the recycle bin alone.

"Help With Eraser"
Version: Eraser 5.7
Pros
Works all right and is free.
Cons
When I erased unused disk space one day, besides the fact that it took a long long time, it actually added and took up more space on my HDD. I looked at my C:\ and found out that 5 more gb was stored on it somehow. Can I get help or any comments to why this is happening?

Version: Eraser 5.7
Pros
I thought I liked it but now I'm not so sure...
Cons
I wanted to erase my c drives unused space so I can give my computer away with the os still intact. So I ran eraser twice, using its over-write 3 times facility. Then to test it I ran CIA Unerase. And I was able to recover THOUSANDS of intact files!!!
Seems like it doesnt work!!!
