EasyBCD looks like the program I needed to fix a friend's computer if I could have figured out how to get it to run, but...

I never got it to run. I downloaded it but then what? It appears to need to be installed "on" the same computer that is experiencing the boot problem. I putting the EasyBCD on a USB drive, then booted up using a BartPE (XP environment), but EasyBCD would not install nor run. It appears that I needed to run it on the machine that would not boot. If I was able to get it to boot in order to load EasyBCD, I would not have needed EasyBCD. I finally ended up simply replacing the HDD. -Phil K in Indy

I don't want to influence anyone one way or the other, but anyone considering this, might want to also look at downloading "partition wizard home edition iso" and burning that to a CD. It's free and it's bootable. -Phil K in Indy

Win8 refused to play ball, which means I have to boot from the BIOS for Win8.
Summary
This may be a problem that will be fixed in a future build of BCD. Hope so.

A very nice tool to Use with an understandable interface. Otherwise almost very hard to tweak Boot Menu (If you do not know the partition details etc.) is very easy

Why can't these coders make installing dotnetfx optional. It's a 50MB download and nearly everyone already has it installed.
