"tivo, divx, PSP extras"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
Has formats which are not used as often so I don't have to look for special programs. The tivo support is welcome so I can do manipulate the files than I could with tivo's own software. The roxio media player also supports these and other standard formats. I don't have any blu-ray dvds yet but it's good to know I have a player when I need it.
Cons
I like the default media manager to be set on media type, not the windows folder system. Its not a big deal but viewing by media type is more convenient so I don't have to look around several folders.

"Multiprogram pack for digital media done how it should be"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
In spite of its large size the installation was reasonably simple, at least on XP. I got the programs working very quickly too. I tried burning a lot of types of disks and they all were good. The photo program has all the features I would want. I think I will purchase the permanent version after using the trial.
Cons
I tried the demo on an old computer and it didn't work. My newer one though handles it well. You may not need the latest and greatest specs, but a pc with more than the minimum requirements is a big help.

"handles many media tasks"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
Full scale editing software here, not bare bones suite programs. I think all the new dvd formats are here too. This is very good for music since it has an automated system to input song data.
Cons
I used version 8 and there was some trouble when I didn't remove everything from 8. I made sure all components were gone and reinstalled. I think roxio should have made it clearer up front that you have to go to several programs in the windows uninstaller, not just one program.

"good interface, many components"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
disk burning - terrific; I made some desktop dvd player ones with video and photos. Since it makes music dvds too, I'll set up my speakers to take advantage.
video editing - varies depending on the program; with 2 programs you have to learn the ins and ands to know which one to use for what task, but once you have that down you can do just about anything
conversions - portable player formats; I have a video iPod and video phone; the compression is good and keeps the quality of the video; the steps are easy to use
Cons
don't try without having the minimum requirements

"Wasted 2 days on this junk."
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
Well...it has a pretty package.
Cons
This software will fry your brain and time. I wasted 2 days working out problems with this. You will NEVER understand why it won't work right. You will NEVER get it to work smoothly. You will never get a straight answer or simple solution to burning a disk. You will NEVER get through to tech support - an answering machine tells you they are at a company event and hangs up immediatly on its last word - keep cool...it's not the machine's fault. You will NEVER recover everything you backup on a disk. You will NEVER understand unless you try it yourself - and I believe EVERYONE should experience what could possibly be the most frustrating software EVER produced for a simple function. I fed the install disks to my shredder. GOOD LUCK!

"It crashed on me"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
There are a lot of features here. Hopefully they work.
Cons
After a lengthy download I installed it. That went fine. My first project as a test was to edit an mpg video file . I know the file is okay as I have edited it elsewhere. Anyway, I loaded it into Roxio & when I tried to edit it, Roxio crashed. I tried it several times all with the same result.
I am not impressed.
