"Worth a Try Since it has Unique Features"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
These days you don't know who to trust since many people like to vent about anything. I take all comments with a grain of salt and try things for myself. I downloaded the program which is large. At minimum regular DSL is really needed. At first some programs worked and others worked halfway. I checked the roxio boards and help site and found my answer. I needed updated drivers for my burner and monitor. I updated and then the photo and video programs were working perfectly.
I agree with other reviewers who liked the versatility. I don't have to keep searching for device support since emc9 covers many devices already.
Cons
It looks like the blue-ray, HD format is still a toss up so including HD burning will cover all bases. Who knows if one format will take over or we will have to live with 2 incompatible formats.

"Simply doesn't work -"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
What good are numerous functions if none of them work?
Cons
After 7 reinstalls, trying it on 3 different computers, two OSs, I conclude that this software sucks. Even on a brand new Vista PC, it hangs, is intolerant of other packages and will not load unless you remove all services and processes. Tech support is terse, unfriendly and you can almost feel their contempt for users. Reading through their support discussion board, I was amazed by the number of people with similar issues and by how their staff blew off and insulted CUSTOMERS! Take my advice - avoid this package like the plague!

"Does most tasks well, no real weaknesses"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
I haven't burned a dud yet. It is hard to tell if you do have trouble if it is the fault of the disk or the software. In most cases I've found it's the disks, especially the cheap ones. I bought a name brand and have burned over 5 disks including a packed music dvd. All of them came out perfectly.
I can't forget the other programs since they are good too. It has a good photo editor, as good as any other. It makes a variety of photo projects.
The music portion is better than most. It does the usual conversions but has the added benefits of the audio id tagging system. It also creates sound files with a recorder tool. It's handy in getting streaming sound which can't be downloaded.
Cons
As tv and pc are merging I'd like to see more tv tools. It does have tivo file support but perhaps tv recording would be welcome.

"Worst software I have encountered - full of bugs"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
Lots of features - especially in video
Cons
Loaded with bugs - audio features seem to have been pushed aside in favor of video. For audio use CD Creator 7 is far better

"Seems to hit middle ground but that's also positive"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
Middle ground? I mean novices and experts can utilize the program. I can't say that about other programs I've used. The burning process is kept to minimum user input. The good - it is fast and takes little thought. The bad- you may never learn enough about the process and will need very user friendly programs.
Results - as good as more complicated interfaces. At first I thought that I had done something wrong because I expected the program to ask me to select more options. The disks though came out perfectly. Not much time sepnt yet on the other programs but I did some quick iPod video transfers. Again this was a reduced step process.
Cons
As long as we have Windows I and so many proprietary media formats, tech knowledge will give you flexiblity to create special media formats. However the major formats are given here and that will be enough for most people.

"Among the worst products I've ever used"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Cons
It crashes every five minutes. Wastes cds and dvds all the time.

"I Had EMC 8, But This Looks Awesome"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
At this point in time I haven't done any burning of DVD's or CD's, but I have been exploring the program. So far it looks very impressive, and I think it will be user friendly as well. I've had the opportunity to use EMC 8 in the past, as well as NERO 5. I think both applications are high class, but I've just always preferred the Roxio software. I'm looking forward to "test driving" it this weekend.

"Highly recommend"
Version: Easy Media Creator Suite 9
Pros
I've struggled with several media programs but roxio's easy medi is the most reliable. I don't think it's intuitive menu system can be beat. Ditto for its many automated features, especially for disk burning. No other program does most of the steps for you like this one does. I'm also a fan of the photo programs. I can make quick and professional looking slide shows. I haven't run across anything lacking in the tools and I've used many popular photo programs.
Cons
For video editing I use Cinemagic and not VideoWave so much I would like to have the option of uninstalling videowave until I decide to use it. I'm not having any conflicts or any problems, but I do like to keep programs to a minimum.
