Nice features- can connect to different servers in different countries, including in America and Europe. Can configure which applications will have their traffic "obscured". However, it considerably reduced the speed of my internet connection. I tried servers closest to me geographically and depending on the server the speed would drop by 30-70%. Perhaps a paid version would be faster

I've used this software for many months now and it's worked extremely well.
The first plus is that it installed without trouble - I tried some competitors and they were troublesome on my system.
I want to be anonymous and also to change my location frequently.
Easy Hide IP does this without any problem and I could eaily check that I had a new IP.
It's worth checking the speed with a site like speedtest. net.
Any queries to support are answered helpfully and quickly - this is reassuring

I have found this programme to be reliable and have no hesitation in recommending it. You cannot find a program that will hide your IP any better than this one..
The tech support is very responsive. I had a question about the encryption, and I got a response back in about 10 minutes You can't get any better than that. Just download the program, and run the 3 day free trial, and see for yourself. I think you will be sold on it. The 3 day trial program is not crippled, so you see what your getting.

...until tonight. I am unable to connect to any server nor can I reach support @EHIP. I don't wish to assume the worst but I am considering the possibility that they have closed up shop. Sure hope I am wrong and a good nights sleep will set things right in the morning

The review by honestabell below this is talking about a different application. He talks about 'additional charges'. Easy-Hide-IP does not have ANY additional charges, it never has and it never will.
He says that the program only hides certain websites unless you pay extra. This is untrue, again, Easy-Hide-IP does not have ANY paid extras.
ALL users have access to ALL servers with the same speed and protection for ALL websites.Cons
Only allowed on one computer is true, each computer requires a separate license.
Summary
The reviewer is either talking about a different application or is trying to give a bad name to this application, either way the review makes claims that are simply not true.
Our apologies for this outage, our main servers suffered down time of about 2 hours on the 3rd of May 2012 which explains your problem. This does not happen often but can happen even to the most stable of platforms.
The reviewer has also made a review of another IP hiding application that is equally incorrect. We have reported them to CNET.

"Easy Install & Use BUT Many Program Disconnections"

- Basic Hide chooses what website(s) they direct you to use
- When using any IP more then one time, they charge extra per month for Premium Service
- To get any other extra's, you have to pay a 3rd, 4th time Extra each month
- Many very slow/dead connections - you never know until you connect to them
- Continually Deletes and Blows Out Its Major Program Working Connection Link(s) Inside your Computer whenever You Install/Uninstall/Update Many Programs (Especially Security and Browser Updates)
- Forced to Having to completely Uninstall and then Reinstall the Hide IP Program; losing all your IP Addresses when paying for Premium Services
- Lost 50 hours in the last 30 days trying to Recover Reinstalled settings
- Install on 1 Computer Only. Blows Out working Program Link if you even try to put on 2nd computer; Even when Upgrading! (3 times max in 60 days or you need to buy new Account)

Having this for about 5 months, it worked nice using XP and No Program changes. But once you try to upgrade your computer or make program or security changes, nothing but continual problems over and over...
I tried to upgrade my computer from Windows XP to 7 to run faster, but I had to continually totally reinstall their program about 5 times in the last 3 or so weeks to try to keep it working. It seems whenever you change computers or programs, their main program link seems to get deleted. Reinstalling over the program does not work so you need to totally uninstall it and then reinstall works, but you lose all your Premium settings. Then you have to go 1 at a time to recover by trying to link back to what you had, which took me up to 1 hour per ip address. Many times the ip address servers are not 24/7 you are trying to connect to.
No indications on how fast your ip connection is until you try to connect to it and then you have to wait and see how good it is or not.
The program is good when working, but beware that they charge you for each and every additional "Extra" you want. If you look, they offer like 10 different things at an additional cost, so the basic price is to hide your IP Address, but they choose your server your going to.
I like them, but like me trying to upgrade my computer, once I tried to transfer between computers, their program immediately stops working on the old computer. Do not do what I did and "hope" it all stays their as a backup because it does not.
I had some issues on my new computer and needed to go back to my old original computer because it just wasn't falling into place, but I found out the hard way that once you transfer your key to another computer, you lose all your IP Address data settings and link on the old computer... I tried over and over to reinstall over the old copy, but it would not work, so I had to totally uninstall the the program and then reinstall a fresh new copy... Then going back to the new computer, the program link file were blown out and I had to do reinstall yet again... Frustrating over and over....
So in short, whenever you jump computers with this program, all your previous settings are blown and main program link deleted, and can no longer use it as a backup...
This company refuses to allow their program to ever be on 2 computers... You are purchasing this for 1 Computer, so you can not put a copy on your laptop and desktop at home. Even if you never ever have both connected to the internet at the same time. Very unuser friendly... I could understand if 2 copies are ever trying to connect at the same time to crash, but they provide NO flexibility of 1 user owning 2 computers...
So I am just trying to let you know about them; something that only a actual user knows. I know I never read any of this prior to purchasing it so as a helpful person, trying to give you more info about them. -

Pros
It's a must have to go with a certain major sport's subscription package, which has a ridiculous blackout policy. I never have problem finding a server that is fast enough to stream in HD.
Cons
I wish it would be a one time fee and not a subscription.
