Combining powerful functionality with a straightforward interface, Easy DVD Rip provides an easy way to transfer DVD information onto your hard drive. In addition to extracting DVD tracks to MPEG or AVI files, it lets you burn VCDs and SVCDs and extract, discard, or merge specific chapters. You also can customize movie settings such as codec, frame size, audio track, and subtitles.
The program performed well in our tests, and the task-based interface was very easy to use. The only counterintuitive aspect of the process is selecting ranges for splitting. Unfortunately, the trial version converts only 10 minutes per track, which makes it impossible to adequately evaluate its performance. Nevertheless, we were impressed with what we saw. Users seeking a hassle-free DVD ripper definitely have a candidate in Easy DVD Rip.

With Easy DVD Rip you can convert any DVD to VCD, SVCD, MPEG-1/2/4, AVI, DivX, XviD with just a few clicks--either complete with all the extras or just the main movie only, in selected language tracks and/or subtitles. The conversion engine features four different modes of conversion (Whole Title/Chapter, Chapter Splitting, Chapters Merging and Time Range), and it auto-detects all DVD parameters, minimizing the list of settings making DVD backup a simple task. I bought the full version. After two attempts and over 10hrs later I had my first movie finished. The problem is it would not play. I sent multiple emails to their customer service. Their fix action was to download another free program that I had to use first before I used Easy DVD Rip. So twice the work for one movie. I asked for my refund based on their advertised policy (it was less than 4 days from purchase) No refund

Purports to copy DVD's. The version I downloaded did no such thing, telling me that the discs were "copy protected" when I knew darn well they were not. The nag screen to get you to buy their software is an irritation.
This is rubbish software designed to get you to take their "professional version" which I will not.
It is common nwadys to get a sucker to download something with the promise it is "free" only to find that the limitations make it next to useless.

This program is very easy to use and gives terrific results. I use it with Vista on my laptop. I was very happy with the results. The price is also reasonable.

I tried Easy DVD Rip on a quad core Vista computer with 3GB of RAM and plenty of hard disk space. It performed horribly...lots of artifacts in the ripped files, along with buggy operation in general.
To make matters worse, the company was reluctant refund my purchase, even though they make a big deal out of having a money-back guarantee. They finally agreed to refund the purchase (after several e-mails) but after two weeks the credit still has not appeared on my charge card. Today, I contacted my credit card company to challenge the charge.
I do not recommend doing business with this company.

On downloading the software and reviewing the online docs, they put up a non-closable popup where the only choices are to buy or register or click OK, not knowing what that might do. I will do no business with a company whose first action is to show they don't respect people.
