    "Do Not Install this software!"

    You may also find a new folder system in the app data. Both local and roaming folders will get an "AMozilla/AFirefox" folder containing the necessary files to "UPDATE" a cache of some sort based in SQLite.
    You will find a new program in the Task Manager process list, also.
    "Update" is a memory hog and unstoppable until you delete the program it is associated with. It took me days to determine where this stuff came from, knowing it had nothing to do with Firefox because I've never loaded Firefox on my system. Good luck.

    Summary

    I suspect there are many ways for what happened to me to happen to you. Just check your task manager for "Updater" and check your App Date folder for "AMozilla" (heaven help us if it has other names!
