"Its OK but not all that great"

Fast scanning, good layout, good graphics and updating is fast.

No desktop icon, limited customisability, has a very simplified feel to the whole programme.

I know that the Having no desktop icon is a bit petty but its irritating not having one, soem would say that it saves space on the desktop, but I've never been the sort of person to have hundreds of icons on my desktop.
I did like the fast scanning of this programme and the general way in which most protection programmes look these days they all generally have their buttosn on the left, I dont get it, is there some sort of standardisation rule, or is origonality in design slowly being phased out of software UI?
The way in which is updates itself is good and it does it without eatign the internet or system perofrmance, some other protection programmes, when updating, cause a bit of lag for a few moments, but this programme dosn't. Its CPU usage during scans can be a bit more improved, on average it used about 50-60% during a full scan.
The limited customisability was irritating for a protection programme which is so highly rated by Cnet, I was expecting something a bit more advanced that what I got, even when I set it to advanced setting there where only a few more options to choose from. I don't know what it is about this programme but I just get the feel that its very simple, is that good? maybe for a novice user, I like to have more control over my protection programmes and this gives very little.
Overall I think that this would be good for a novice user to try out or to use it in conjunction with another protection programme that it dosnt conflict with. -

Best of class anti-virus software. Its fast, it wont sap resources on your machine and its clean. Plus it has a very good detection rating.

Summary
I switched to NOD32 after using various anti virus applications like Symantec. First of all, I do not recommend any of the internet suites. They hog your machine down. All you need is one good anti-virus/anti-spyware program. I have found NOD32 to be the fastest doing a full system scan. I hadrly even notice its running on my machine and the interface and warnings are so clean and non intrusive. I love it.
What? First of all why run two antivirus apps when they can conflict? You never do that. Secondly AVG is not superior. I think your problem is beyond blaming it on NOD32. Most enthusiasts go with Kapersky or NOD and personally NOD32 is better and far less intrusive.
By the way Im running it on 64bit Vista without any problems.

I read many of the reviews on this software, and was pleased to think that this would be the antivirus protection that I was looking for. Too bad it didn't turn out to be so. My current operating system is XP and I think that it probably works best on Vista.

I have done extsive research in the past, concluding it is the most effective antivirus available, and it uses few system resources.
Cons
They do not test their updates well enough. Twice in the last few months have I had the PCs on my network rendered literally inoperable because of buggy virus signature updates. This equates tp many hours of lost productivity!
Summary
I can no longer tolerate NOD32. I am switching to Norton 2009, which, from what I've read, seems to be universally loved.
Go ahead and read the official NOD32 support forum, and you will see stories of entire organizations with crippled PCs as a result of Eset's botched signature updates. It's just not worth it to risk running this software. Especially when there are superior alternatives out there. -

Finds the viruses and trojans other anti-virus programs miss. Updates automatically and frequently without you noticing, so that the latest threats on the web are blocked effectively. Scan is fast enough for me because I know it will do it's job.
Cons
I have no cons with this product it is the best I have ever used so far.
Summary
I like this product for its ability to find and remove virues and the sort with little resources. The sandbox feature is what really makes this program shine in my eyes, because it activity watches your computer and allowing unknown files to run in a virtual OS to determine whether the programs intend is malicious or not, so it effectively polices your system with little interference with your daily task. I wish more people can start using ESET and actually see results. Only anti-virus I have a problem with is AVG, I can't believe how unreliable that program was before I switched to ESET. Upon installation of ESET it immediately found 3 viruses and 10 after a complete system scan, truly amazing. Try ESET NOD32 you will get results.

Light on system resources. That's the thing I like the most about this program.

Some issues with false positives and surprisingly it misses more viruses than I expected. Less than stellar GUI.
Summary
I found this program to be a lot of hype. I was disappointed with it's detection and to me detection is the most important factor of an anti-virus program. I like it's light load, but I don't feel as safe with this program as I do with Kaspersky. Twice now a friend of mine that uses NOD32 sent me files that my anti-virus flagged as infected. My friend laughed and told me he has NOD32 and the file is clean. It turns out my friend was wrong... he did in fact have a virus on two occasions. The perfect anti-virus would be the detection capabilities of Kaspersky with the light load of NOD32.

Has one of the best results on the Virus Bulletin.
Able to get a 2 year licence for less than a dollar a week (AUS$).Cons
