"Simple, free and comprehensive database"
Pros
Installs easily, small footprint, accesses IMDB and others, imports movie information easily, makes it easy to find movie disks in large collections, and even maintains a record of loaned disks. The video rental graphic display that looks just like the shelves in a video rental place make a fun way to search for a movie to watch. I use my own numbering system for the location, and that allows me to find any movie in my collection with relative speed and accuracy.
Cons
I suppose it could be more complex, and do more things, but that would defeat my attraction to it.
Summary
In a nutshell, I maintain a relatively large collection of movies. I have found this little application and those storage tubs that hold 510 disks to be invaluable for maintaining control of my titles. If you have two hundred movies or more on disks, you need some kind of locating software, and the containers to store your collection. EMDB is the perfect database for such a collection. This is an inexpensive way to maintain your movie collection. I wait for the containers to go on sale for under thirty dollars each, and use this free database designed for movies. It's a great little system, when you get it loaded.
