it seems to work really good, with all the popular email services, and i think it's a really good idea ... i like it alot
Cons
they're lying about it being free, and if the popular email services decide that they dont like this handy little tool, they may do things to their own protocol to make it not work, which in turn will require dynadvance to be forced to constantly upgrade their product

This program is not free! It also can be misleading to users because it is slightly indicative of that it provides POP3 support for web based accounts, which is not true.

Pros
I have been using DynAdvance Notifier from the beginning and it is just what I was looking for ! All major web-based accounts are supported, plus POP3 and IMAP both with SSL option. It works perfect with a proxy ( betatester, did you read the help file of the product ? )
It's user interface is so nice and clean. The product is well worth the price.
Cons
I think the author does not have a download.com developer account (which costs) and that's why the program information about version and price is outdated. Sometimes someone else posts a program on behalf of the author. This is the case here.

"NOT A FREE PROGRAM"

This program is not free. Download.com got played when the makers submitted it into this directory. It costs $14.95 thru Regnow. I installed it at my workplace and couldn't get it to connect (no proxy settings option). At my home it worked, but like the reviewer above stated, it doesn't work with Yahoo! Bottom line, it does not work when you're behind a proxy (company firewall). A waste of my time installing it and getting it to work plus I wasn't happy with being misled into thinking this program was freeware. They should state that it is shareware (free to try) with the price shown.

"Light-weight e-mail notification tool - ALMOST what I was looking for."

Pros
Generally, it does what it's supposed to do: Say "pling" when a message arrives. Fortunately, no unnecessary features such as offline reading/writing of messages - I have Yahoo for that.
Cons
It doesn't automatically check me in to my Yahoo account.
Messages arriving in other folders than the inbox go unnoticed.

One of the best products of its kind. Nice and clean interface and operation. This is a no-nonsense Email Notifier. You must give it a try !
