  I have tried three to four such "clone-spy" programs, all without success. The latest "fast duplicate finder" took about 24 hours to find and list all the duplicates in a 1/45 TB drive, only to crash when it got to 95% done, twice. And as usual, you were also going to have to manually select which files to delete. So, having a one and a half terabite external drive to scan, I kept looking and finally found this program and installed it, and though it balked a bit at times (becoming unresponsive) due to the heavy load, it recovered each time and completed the job as I wanted it done, which was to be able to scan several different folders on the drive but exclude one folder from deletion of duplicates, and it was just a matter of tweaking settings. I mean, this thing does all the work for you! I don't think I have any need for the paid version, so I'm a happy camper!

  Summary

  I used this program extensively to clean & condense my music collection on multiple external hard drives. It was a labor of love and Duplicate Cleaner helped tremendously!

• Full functionality and very fast search

  Much better after I tried 10 analog soft. Work on large media library (500 Gb photos and mp4-videos). Very fast - I searched duplicates for 20 sec (size and file names were compared). It's really for FREE without any ads.

  I have recently used a program called Duplicate Files Deleter & i am so happy with the results that this particular program does. I have more than 50 GB of duplicate files in my computer and i was going crazy with the hard disk space that was being consumed and thanks to the "Duplicate Files Deleter" where i don't need to search each & every file to delete. Duplicate Files Deleter did the job for me within a very short period of time. So no need to google each problem to remove duplicate & unwanted files, just grab the program called Duplicate Files Deleter. From:liona123

  When I tried using this to compare 2 folders on my external drive (both containing videos & likely identical), it started to scan and looked like it was doing something, then suddenly stopped, reporting 0% complete and 0 duplicates found. Trying to exit that dialog was tricky. Same with trying to exit the program.

  Would allow easy listing of files to scan, but when another tab asked which files to scan, the files from the previous list could not be migrated. Help files pretended to exist but when selecting them nothing came up. POS

  Sorted out my overstuffed backup folder - had about ten copies of everything. Ran fast, no issues.

• Crapware - You Need to Buy Product for it to Work

  This is NOT shareware/freeware/or any other "ware". I couldn't get it to recognize any file unless it was a .csv file, and it asked me to convert ALL files to csv before it would scan them. Almost EVERY option available was only available in the purchased program. Stay away from this if at all possible!!

  Summary

  Don't waste your time downloading this. Immediately remove it from your OS.
