    "Dropbox is amazing"

    January 1, 2010  |   By wlswinner

    Version: Dropbox 0.7.90

    Pros

Off-site backup with the Cloud protects my critical files. Private, Shared and Public folders allow flexibility and power in controlling access to your files by others. Files are also accessible through their easy to use web site.

    Cons

Shared folders don't provide Read-Only protection for a shared file which is currently being worked on by another. A system of coordination needs to be developed between multiple users.

    Summary

Dropbox is a great program. It has multiple folders that sync with the Dropbox site in the "Cloud". Off-site backup of critical files in a Private Folder is made simple and safe; Shared Folders allow sharing of files with friends and access to files from another computer; The Public Folder makes it easy to store a file then send a link to it so others can download it at their convenience. I've been using it for over a year and I love it for accessing my files from multiple computers including Macs, PCs, and iPhone or iPod Touch. I've been using Dropbox for over a year and highly recommend it.

"Great 4 sharing files - family, friends and computers."

    January 1, 2010  |   By Freddynoel

    Version: Dropbox 0.7.90

    Pros

Easy to forward photos and documents (non-confidential) online and sharing within several computers at home or office.

    Cons

The lack of confidentiality and the unacceptable fact that DropBox may use any of the document/photos stored in the member's folders (unless I misunderstood the rules?).

    "Free, Simple, iPhone compatible"

    December 30, 2009  |   By michaelharmon

    Version: Dropbox 0.7.90

    Pros

I easily shared large files with clients without having to write custom web pages for their downloads. I love that I can store audio files and photos for viewing on my iPhone.

    Cons

I wish the cost for the paid version were less expensive. Maybe if they had a more tiered cost / drive space arrangement, that could work for the company and more cost conscious users.

    Summary

It's great. It's great. Oh, did I mention it's great? It's very easy to use and it's compatible with Mac and iPhone too. :-) And 2GB for free!! You can't beat that.

"One of the best apps I have used this year"

    December 24, 2009  |   By jobobike1

    Version: Dropbox 0.7.79

    Pros

Easy to set up. As a student working on group projects it is just awesome.

    Cons

Have not found any flaws. It is updated often but it just worked from the get go.

    Summary

2 GB for free that you can share with your friends and access from any PC or Mac, iPhone or iPod Touch. 2 GB is very generous but you can buy more space.

"Excellent product does what it says simply"

    December 22, 2009  |   By kleosmith

    Version: Dropbox 0.7.79

    Pros

    It works like advertised

    Cons

I am sure it will advance to replace expensive products like Sharepoint Portal Server which not only cost a fortune, but require training to use and is anything but intuitive

    "Works great."

    December 22, 2009  |   By boecherer

    Version: Dropbox 0.7.79

    Pros

Works on multiple platforms including iPhone. It's quick and can replace a VPN in some cases if file sharing is the main reason for the VPN.

    Cons

Nothing major. Just be careful you know what you are sharing.

    Summary

I like it for the above reasons - multi-platforma and the speed and the free 2GB account is nice. One of the nice things about it is if you upload a file that already exists on the Dropbox server, it doesn't have to upload the whole file as it knows it already has the file. You can store your install programs on Dropbox to have easy access to them from all the computers in your house.
