    "" IT'S COME A LONG WAY" !!"

    December 21, 2008  |   By mark bevan

Obviously, i love the fact it's free and it works!! Once you find your feet it's pretty straight forward to use.

As J.Wayne mentioned, do be careful, you might find some of the drivers are not compatible with your computer.

DriverMax has come a long way since last year. I did have it installed in the past but it failed to download many of the drivers, so i dumped it. Now, with this latest version, i thought "what the heck" I'll give it a try. Well, to be honest i wasn't disappointed. It takes a little while to scan your system but well worth the wait. In total i had 12 drivers which needed updating. All but one were quickly downloaded and installed. BUT, create a system restore point before you start and DO NOT download and install in bulk. What i did was one by one, this way you have better control over what your doing, and if one driver isn't compatible you know which one it was. Out of 12 drivers 1 wasn't compatible. Did an online check and it was for Vista system, I'm running XP, that's the only problem i had. All in all a great piece of software but use with care, and take notes of the non compatible drivers for future reference.
