Version: DriveClone Pro 3
"It works but I have one major complaint."
Pros: Does what it claims it does and has a professional GUI. Scheduled backups and it can clone, recover said clone as well as back up files and folders.
Cons: Heres my major gripe:
It will wipe all other information out on the destination drive. No way to path it to a folder on said drive and I will not mess up a new 500GB Maxtor External HDD to use this app so I uninstalled it. But heres a tip:
Understand that I'm in no way a fan of Norton products but Norton Ghost v12 and 14 are amazing. I watched it create it's clone (restore point) and back up everything in documents on Vista as well as XP Pro. It actually works and gets along with my other software. I recommend getting a copy at buy cheap software dot com for $40 bucks,. It will be the best money you ever spent on any software, period!

"Great potential, but it needs work."
Pros: I bought this program because I wanted one program that I could use on both Vista & XP Pro. It works great on XP Pro, no problems. Good price and a professional looking GUI.
Cons: But, on Vista Home Premium it destroyed system restore. It took three times for me to figure out "***" keeps happening. I've been up all night re-formatting again. This time I didn't install Drive Clone and it's all good. Tomorrow, I'm going to request a refund. Better to come off the cash for Norton Ghost then format over and over, experimenting to find out what was corrupting my system restore!

Pros: Low cost software, from a reputable company. Other products work well.
Cons: It can do a backup to an internal drive, but two hours to backup less than 50 GB to a second internal HD on a 3GHz PC with over 1GB RAM and an 800MHz front-side bus seemed slow. Backup attempts to a USB2 attached external drive froze after an hour or so, locking up Windows XP so bad that it had to be powered down to reboot. The INCREMENTAL BACKUP FEATURE DOES NOT WORK, and tech support says "that's a known problem."
They shouldn't sell it if it doesn't work!!!!

Pros: My computer froze and this saved my computer in less than a minute. and all my data and software were still there. thank you!

Pros: I used the demo version to clone my laptop hard drive and upgrade to a larger hard drive - it worked like a dream.
Cons: I didn't use any of the features besides the cloning feature, so I can't comment on these.
