    "This works and works well!"

    October 14, 2012   |   By pcadmin2

    Version: Drive Snapshot 1.40

    Pros

Easy...affordable....works! I tend not to believe reviews because you just don't know who is writing them. Try it on your own and make your own decision. (Now if everyone is saying there is a virus or malware in it then I would think twice but then I would hope CNet wouldn't have it on their site.)

    Cons

There are no cons just trolls. It works!!!!! Plain and simple! Don't believe the people that are saying it doesn't.

    Summary

Too bad most of the reviews are wrong. This software works just fine. If it didn't work for you then you did something wrong.

    Version: Drive Snapshot 1.39

    Pros

    Easy to use, nice interface

    Cons

Did not work. Price is too high. Try Macrium Reflect, or R-Drive.

    Summary

Did not work, and their tech support could not help. Had to abandon the program as non-functional.

"Imaging disaster recovery tool that just works!"

    January 23, 2009   |   By naexpert

    Version: Drive Snapshot 1.3

    Pros

    Easy to use.
    No install required.
Uses own snapshot tech or VSS.
    Very cheap.
    Backs Windows and Linux.
Can browse images (sna file) very easily so can copy and paste files back if required.
    Restore to VM
    Fantastic.......

    Cons

    No logs are created.

    Summary

I have been testing Drive Snapshot for a few weeks now and I am rolling this out to backup a few servers and workstations.

Very easy to use and the command line switches are a doddle to use in a batch file.

Create a batch file and then schedule it using Windows scheduler and you have yourself a very fast and stable disaster recovery system.

Can back up to USB drives which is what I do and then take them off site.

Drive Snapshot compresses the images on the fly so unlike Windows own NT Backup where the bkf files are not compressed, Drive Snapshot creates images that can be up to 50% smaller than the data being backed up. Brilliant.

It also has its own snapshot texhnology that freezes files at point of starting backup so open files can continue to be used i.e.SQL etc. Also automatically uses VSS if required i.e. for Exchange.

Considering this product does pretty much what Acronis and Symantic do, Drive Snapshot well underated and I would urge you to consider this as an alternative to the main stream disaster recovery software.

Try it for 30 days free, you will will want to but it!

"Easy solution to mirroring and restoring your OS"

    October 05, 2008   |   By malcarada

    Version: Drive Snapshot 1.24

    Pros

    No installation needed
    Simple interface
    Easy to use
Backs up and restores data easily
Creates a mirror copy of your OS

    Cons

You can't program it to back up at a certain time

    Summary

You do not even need you to install it to run DriveSnapshot this can be done optionally from a USB thumbstick if you wanted to, this software will make your life very easy to mirror and restore the whole OS, there are three main buttons on the interface, "BACK UP" ; "RESTORE" ; "VIEW DATA", the last one being a viewer of the backed up data, it cant get any better than this.

    Updated on Oct 5, 2008

Drive Snapshot can actually be scheduled for backups it uses Windows Schedule, I withdraw all cons from this product.

"The Best Hard Drive Imaging App. Period"

    May 24, 2008   |   By mikemiga

    Version: Drive Snapshot 1.24

    Pros

I've used loads of drive imaging programs, freeware, commercial and shareware, and Drive Snapshot outshines them all. Very fast. Ability to image the drive while running the operating system is unparalleled, except for Terabyte Unlimited's Image for Windows, which requires an add-on program and reboot. It's simple and effective. The price is well worth it. Combined with a BartPE boot disk for restore functions, this is the way to go.

    Cons

    Nothing.

"Simple. Well written. Good e-mail support. Efficient."

    April 03, 2008   |   By bobanov

    Version: Drive Snapshot 1.24

    Pros

I love this! Doesn't install, it's just one exe file. Backups the drive even if it's working.

    Cons

Too little colors used on UI? :))

Seriously: It could do scheduled backup ... who wants to write batch files these days?

I feel like a retard now. I just lost 10 minutes of my life that I'll never get back.
