Like LaunchBar, Fruitmenu, and Default Folder, this popular and well-tested shareware GUI-enhancer has become an indispensable addition to OS X for many users. DragThing exists to make getting to things on your Mac--files, folders, apps, disks, URLs, and windows--quick and easy. Inveterate interface tweakers love DragThing because you can create multiple docks (like the OS X Dock) that can be almost infinitely configured to suit your specific situation. Plus, you can save snippets, define tons of hot keys, and perform quite a few neat OS tricks (like putting a Trash back on your desktop).
If you don't like bells and whistles, DragThing might not be your thing--it's arguably nothing but bells and whistles, and the preferences can be a little overwhelming to new users. But if you like to have your OS X experience just so, few apps can help you better. This latest update adds support for Snow Leopard, a new dock theme ("Marble"), an option to highlight 32-bit apps, and more.
From TLA Systems:
The original dock designed to tidy up your Macintosh desktop. It puts all your documents, folders, and applications just a single click away. Highly flexible, it allows multiple docks, each customized to suit your exact needs.
What's new in this version:
Fixed a problem with badges on application icons not showing.
one movement, one click, one more movement and I'm where I want to be. Navigation city!
there isn't anything I don't like :-)
It allows me to switch between applications with a minimum of actions - it's slick, easy to use, and easy to customise, but tbh, once I set it up over the first week or so, I haven't had to touch it since. It's a good friend
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. I purchased a license for DragThing for our Agencies Mac Systems and everyone loves it. This program is so useful, full of many features and always works. I highly recommend it to everyone. I wish more developers would be as responsive and productive as this one is! Tops in all categories. Worth much more than what it costs!
