- I forgot to say that I had to disable the DAP Link Checker extension in Chrome as it causes LinkedIn to hang up when viewing the new profile format that LinkedIn is converting people to. -

The new version's antivirus feature is very good and in general, the new DAP's version's improvements are very useful.
Cons
Maybe it's not that fast all the time but that's the situation in all the accelerators i tried until today.

I've downloaded the new version today and it worked just fine. love the feature that lets you see the download from the first second of the download! With all the junk that there is, it's a "must-have" feature.

It's an effective download manager, BUT it installs a load of crap on your computer. You'll end up pulling your hair out. There are better download managers out there - try Internet Download Manager - without the hassle.
Cons
This software should be classified as Malware. It installs a load of gunge on your computer. For example when you turn on your computer a pop up screen will appear on your computer.One of the many hidden "extras" with this. You may never be able to get rid of them.
Summary
Don't touch. Try another downloader. I have one that works seamlessly in the background, as they should, not something that's used as an (immensely) irritating marketing tool.

download Accelerator seemed to work okay, but not dramatically faster
Cons
Speedybit video component changed many Firefox 13 settings and generally mucked up speed dial.
Summary
While freeware is appreciated, it should not make drastic changes without user knowledge/approval.

"Meh... can't download .MKV files or via Download Mirror"

Good GUI.. that's why I only tried it.. to try something new GUI.

Ok. First I'm a premium user of Filefactory and DAP, and I was going to download .MKV files. I can't download the video coz it automatically download via browser not via DAP which is really annoying. So I tried via DAPSTER extension that lets you download all downloadable file but I found out some media files can't be downloaded especially .MKV files and will only give you HTML link files which pure BS. I tried Rapidgator Mirror Link, Fiberupload still meh, Freakshare... meh.. here is the link of the supposed to be file http://www.animesenshi.com/hyouka-episode-8/ I want to watch it! in .MKV! so meh

IF DAP won't reply to me (went to complain via feedback) I'm going back to IDM! oh also I don't like how DAP downloads Youtube videos. I was going to disregard the download thing via DAP coz I have Youtube Downloader Pro version coz I don't like streaming.
Update: After pointing out in the with DAP via customer care,:P they didn't reply. lol changed DAP to Internet Download Manager. Works better
