"A Really Useful Product"

Pros
This really speeds up my downloads and its free for as long as you want to use it. I'm tempted to try the premium version; does anyone recommend that?

Very good to have in my computer.
Cons
Default should be without any pre ticked boxes for the freebies or homepage but I noticed a lot of free softwares are using this tactic to earn some money. I unticked.
Summary
I unticked all options so not a problem.
I used three separate antivirus/ antispyware and none detected any malware! I am fed up in Cnet allowing user comments especially long winded bogus comments defending specific must pay products! -

Pros
This was really easy to install and so long as you keep you're eyes open you won't install anything you don't want. I ran this through toal virus which checks a file with 40 well-known anti-virus checkers and it came back clean. This is a really good download mangager and it is malware free!
Cons
It won't wash my dishes!

Worked like many downloaders. No need to read instructions.
Cons
Speed is governed by incoming servers and pc itself so DAP itself is at their mercy.
Summary
When installing, unchecked any options that is not needed. This is not malware as IDM like to have us believe. This is the better trial software to use than IDM.

Slight bit of faster download.
Cons
The software installs many sub-programs that tend to take control from the user. They modify the computer to reload deleted programs so that you are continually directed to their internet site when you start your browser unless you purchase their program. I did not want to purchase and did not see a marked increase in the download speed of their program. I'm sure that there are better programs that do not hijack your computer if you try them.
Summary
Try it if you want but be prepared to have difficulty removing all of their side programs and changes.
Web site says that their uninstaller will remove but it was difficulty to get all of the hidden and ancillary programs and registry patches removed to gain control of the browser.

The increase in speed is really impressive. This does exactly what its supposed to. Increases download speed and saves time you'd normally be waiting for commercials to load.
Cons
I can't think of any.
Summary
I went for the paid version after trying the free package and it was well worth the upgrade.

I realize when installing you must uncheck alot of boxes wanting to change your homepage, search engine, add browser plugins and toolbars plus a ton of other software from Speedbits partners. HOWEVER no matter how careful you are opting for a custom install. Dap goes right on ahead and still makes a lot of changes and adds useless toolbars to your Browser and pop up banners when you start up your PC. BE WARNED!! I'm kinda PO'd I did not fully understand the other reviews Warnings

I ran an uninstall immediately after I noticed all the sudden changes to my PC. The install itself was awefull. filled with different ways asking the same questions if you'd like to install all the crapware that is offered along with Dap. I came on here to caution others to ( Heed the warnings )They were so right about this nightmare install.
Summary
Well in sumnation, just heed the warnings from all the other reviewers. I usually just glance them off because some people are just not careful enough when installing freeware. But boy oh boy How wrong I was. Dap has the same behavior as Malware. And it was pretty stubborn to reverse all my settings and I really hate stupid toolbars..yeesh!

TIP: after you install it. start up and then go to tools/options/connections. set your connectionspeed than accelerationspeed to: High acceleration speed and the maxsimultaneous downloads both to atleast 7 and then click the close buton.AND ENJOY THE EXTRA SPEED FOR FREE!!!

Was having problems with download speed, installed DAP and the speed returned to previous levels. I assume that this is due to DAP, in which case it does its job well.
Cons
Installation requests a number of additional products, including a different browser set-up - none of which I wanted or needed. I have no objection to having them offered but (as far as I could ascertain) installation only proceeded if you said 'Yes' to at least one package option.

Got 2 youtube videos to download but way too many boxes to uncheck for developers attempt to sign up for bloatware, too much verify, resolving and as I am writing another file trying hard to download but can NOT quite get it right. Back to YTD Youtube Downloader and delete this crap.

Either download the video or don't. These pop up boxes are a joke. Get a day job
