We had mixed but generally positive feelings about this download accelerator. The good news is that Download Accelerator Manager Free Edition accelerates downloads, supports multiple browsers, and picks up broken transfers without a hitch. The bad news is it has a mediocre feature set, even for a freeware program. Download Accelerator Manager Free Edition integrates with all popular browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera, so you only have to click a link to start a transfer. Alternately, you can drag a link to Download Manager's tiny "basket," which floats on top of your other windows. Download Accelerator automatically sorts incoming files into folders by type. It can send cookies if necessary, but it can't handle password-protected sites. It can't schedule downloads, either, but it can shut down your computer after finishing a transfer. The clear, good-looking interface was the deciding factor. Despite slight reservations, we recommend Download Accelerator Manager Free Edition to avid downloaders on a budget.Publisher's description
From Tensons :Download Accelerator Manager (DAM) is a tool for resuming and managing Internet downloads. It contains no adware, spyware, or malware. With DAM, you may download and manage any files. Its resume capability will recover broken downloads due to unexpected events or errors. DAM can get files from protected sites; it supports Web cookies, proxy, HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP protocols, and redirects. DAM integrates into Microsoft Internet Explorer and IE variations, like MSN Explorer, Avant Browser, Maxthon (MyIE2), and Website Ripper Copier, to handle downloads. Plus, it works with other browsers including Firefox, Netscape, and Opera, by using a drop target to initiate downloads. Other features include connection, cookie, and free-space management. It's highly customizable and automated.

Version: Download Accelerator Manager 1.0
Cons: Cant configure folders, if its shut off it loses folder destination info, and adds folders to desktop so that you have 3 copies of the file. Major flaw is that it sucks system resources, downloaded 3 files, worked great, but caused system to display low resources cannot run program warning, and this is with almost 800 meg of DDR ram, never had this problem with another download manager, only reason I tried this was my other one came up as having adware.

Pros: Didn't finish installing because it tried to add microsoft.net
Cons: On installation connects to the internet and tries to install microsoft.net(?) for some reason. Very dodgy practice. Why don't they advise you or ask if that's ok ? Very very dodgy practice.

Pros: a really free, easy and beautiful program ever with no spyware, adware or malware! highly recommended to others! just simply ignore other negative feedback left by the program's jealous, losing competitors :)
Cons: no complaints but "thank you" to the authors as my appreciations to this wonderful tool!
