If you have a 64 bit Windows 7, you are not downloading doom from anywhere.
Summary
I have always loved Doom. I will play for days until I beat it and then put the game up for a while. Months later play it again. After I got my new laptop with WIndows 7 and a 64 Bit res, I was hoping to download my Collector's Edition DOOM. Isn't going to happen. I can't find any site to give me a way to download and my game is worthless on this laptop. I tried this site and the same result. My computer is too good to run one of the best games of all time. Id needs to redo the classic doom series, better graphics like Nintendo 64 and make it run on 64 bit computers. That would be awesome.

Pros
Doom is the first real FPS, and has shown everyone the endless possibilities of that gaming genre. Doom ranks as high, if not higher, than Half Life on the rank of games that have influenced us forever.
Aw forget that. Just download and gib some zombies!

Bad graphics for our time period, but still pretty good with some mods.

Pros
One of the parties responsible for FPS as a whole, Doom is like a history class. A freakin' fraggin' butt whoopin' fun fest of a history class. It moves nice and smooth, even though the graphics don't look up to snuff.
Cons
You only have about a third of Doom as a whole, and this demo let you know it.
