I can't believe they still have this ole game up here! It's sooo outdated! That aside, this game has, and forever will be (in my mind) the best game of it's time, and at least a runner-up of our time. Please download or look for it in a bargin bin somewhere, because this game is ADDICTING!

I downloaded the DooM 1.9 Shareware & install the Legacy source port. i can play this for hours. also on graphics. Theres a source port out there called ZDOOMGL. find it download it and download the md2 file set and there ya go FULL openGL 3D DooM. Any Gamer or just anyone should download this. Its by far the best game i have ever played. Nothing can come close to beating doom. It was the game that set the way to Half Life and Halo. It will NEVER die.

Yeah, this game is pretty much legendary. It's waht spawned all kinds of great games. To those of you who dislike Half-life or " whateverr the new online multiplayer game is" Doom is an exellent game, but because of it, we've been able to play all kinds of NEW games. I like doom, but it IS outdated, although fun, still outdated. I think it still stands up WITH games like Half-Life, Battlefield 1942, Unreal Tournament, etc etc beacuse of how fun it is. I think to just dislike newer games just because Doom has features that make you, the terrible programmer who can only handle simpler games like doom, can tweak easily doesn't mean you should dis new games.
Anywho, sorry I read nova7's post and had to correct his ignorant rantings. Doom is a really really fun, simple shoot-em up game and you should all give it a try. -

Doom is the game of our generation if you think it's outdated go play half-life or whateverr the new online multiplayer game is. But doom has overall the best community.Doom is very easy to construct levels due to it's psuedo 3d engine. Thus leaving a plethera of levels online to play. There's even source ports. Doom is good it's the best. But it get's better with the multiplayer source ports like zdoom. I think xodemultimedia.com has a list.
