"Deceptive pricing - license is only for one year"

    October 7, 2011  |   By Jacq100

    Pros

    Easy to use

    Cons

Only after you buy it do they tell you your license is only for one year and then quote: "Upon expiration your license turns into Trial mode.". I am not talking about the cheap version this is the small biz licesnse.

    Summary

At $169 single computer this sw is expensive. For that price you at least expect you own it not lease it! You have to request a new license every year and decide if you want to pay for maintenance. It is also locked to one computer configuration so if you change your hard drive you again have to request a new license key. You are at their mercy. Read all the reviews carefully because some positive reviews look like they are from the company not users.

The terms of license usage are declared in EULA which must be accepted before the product installation.

Our product is licensed, not sold, and must be used only under the terms of the license you have ordered.

With the Small Business and Business Pro licenses, you are granted a one-year period of technical support and the product updates from the date of license purchase.

The maintenance has to be renewed to obtain another period (one year minimum) of support and updates. The maintenance does not exceed 30% of current price of the license.

Our product offers you to use the same method of protecting your intellectual property (compiled EXE) by using the date expiration of your compiled EXEs (feature of Small Business license)and creating the registration keys with data expiration for your compiled EXEs (feature of Business Pro license).

About the terms of product licenses usage you may find at the following location at the DoneEx web site:
