DoNotTrackMe for Firefox gives you control over your online experience with its vital security features and privacy options, though this may come at the price of reduced browsing speed. DoNotTrackMe's unobtrusive design makes it easy to use, and its blocking tools are some of the best on the market.
Helpful and informative: DoNotTrackMe for Firefox offers explanations for why services are being blocked and how they may be harmful. This helpful app even tells you, in its online guide and blog, how to secure your identity through other means.
First-rate toolkit: The software has its customizable blocking options and a suggestion tool, so you can personalize DoNotTrackMe to fit your browsing needs. We noted that the email masking feature performed as expected and did not cause any delay in receiving messages.
Engaging design: The DoNotTrackMe add-on and website are both well-built and attractive, mainly due to the innovative, infographic-style layout. The quick options list from the application's drop-down menu is a breeze to navigate.
Hinders speed: Using DoNotTrackMe for Firefox seemed to slow down our browser considerably, even with all other add-ons disabled. The application accomplished its goals, but we are unsure why our browsing experience was hampered by the sluggishness of this program.
DoNotTrackMe is reliable, helpful, and well-built, but its slowness may inhibit your browsing. While this is a great program, incorporating more features like Disconnect's private search would make DoNotTrackMe more desirable. Regardless, we see very few problems with this add-on and recommend installing DoNotTrackMe if you want protect your personal information.
The average internet user has their browsing history tracked 160 times per day. What does that mean? Almost every Web site you visit tracks and records your activity and sells your data to other companies. Every time you give a Web site your real e-mail address, it makes you easier to track. LivingSocial, Adobe, Zappos, Facebook, Citigroup, and many more Web sites were hacked in 2013, representing over 200 million customers' data lost (e-mails, passwords, credit cards). DoNotTrackMe: How It Works. By adding DoNotTrackMe, you will effortlessly block more than 600 tracking companies from seeing which sites you visit, articles you read, videos you watch, purchases you make. No registration required. If you want to stop your e-mail from being tracked, just provide your e-mail address the next time you visit an e-mail form (see screenshot). After that, you'll never have to give out your e-mail ever again. Advanced Premium features ($5/mo.) allow you to protect more private information by creating one-time use, private credit cards when you shop online and providing you a private phone number. Note: If you don't want to stop e-mail tracking and spam from e-mail form fields, you can turn this off by going to the DoNotTrackMe icon in your browser, clicking Settings, and unchecking "Don't track my e-mail".
