Version: Diskeeper 2007
"Keep Diskeeper 10..."
Pros: ...if you have it, because at least it worked!!! Boot-time defrag works great but you only need to use it once...
Cons: 1)failed to load at start-up and had to be manually started twice... 2)manual defrag was slower than windows defragger... 3)had to reinstall twice and still couldn't get auto-defrag to work... 4)no response to my eMails... Discovered that DK 2007 has conflicts with some firewalls (XP & 3rd-party) because diskeeper has to contact the internet (loop-back) to auto-defrag, which is why I uninstalled DK 10 and won't be renewing my license.

...I eMailed TechSupport. Within 24 hours I had a new dLo-link (for the pro version, THANKS)... What a world of difference, it's so much lighter and quicker!!! Can't wait to try ProPremier when my license runs out!!! PDF/help-file that goes into great detail. The quick response from TechSupport won me over, but the change on a new pc was impressive. The boot-time defrag alone is worth the price of this little gem! Five stars and two thumbs up!!! (sorry gg, I couldn't think of a better description)

from Diskeeper, fully explaining the technology behind DK2007. Very impressive for the larger pc's, and if I had 250Gb-HD I would install for sure! For my mini-pc(20Gb) DK 10 was the best. Now I use AusLogics fragger....

I suspect the Diskeeper Service is getting blocked on startup. There is a Diskeeper log file that can be enabled to gather more information that would be helpful to document the exact problem.
