"don't buy it"
Version: Diskeeper 2007
Pros
I liked previous versions, not this one
Cons
I had the Pro Premier version, and it caused disk corruption. Fortunately I had full disk backups so I could restore, but even with that, I lost 4 days of work data because of this problem. I now have this product turned off, and I plan to return it. Its too bad because I've always used Diskeeper and its been such a great product, until now. It causes hard disk corruption, I had a bad boot sector and hundreds of index errors that chkdsk fixed but left the OS unbootable. Don't buy it!

"Killed partition - Tech support unsuccessful - Data recovery app saved my butt!"
Version: Diskeeper 2007
Pros
quick boot time. Defrag went quickly as I had regularly used Auslogics Disk Defrag (highly recommend freebee). I wanted to use Diskeeper for its MFT re-sizing process and real-time optimization of files and folders on my NTFS partition.
Cons
Boot time system file defragmentation kill my disk partition?s boot sector & MFT. It seems that Diskeeper and spy- and virus-ware programs can collide during this boot-time process. Tech support was quick to get to, but after using Windows XP recovery console?s chkdsk, almost nothing, including the OS was recovered. With no more help from tech support, I searched for data recovery software and used VirtualLab Data Recovery. It recovered most all of my data after mounting the Diskeeper-destroyed HD as a usb drive on another machine. ? They should warn you to disable these programs before running the boot-time process, and at least let you know about data recovery programs that may recovery data lost by their product. - It may be a great program, but this little oversight was a disaster!

"Fast Defragmenter software"
Version: Diskeeper 2007
Pros
One of the fastest defragmentation software available on the market.
Lots of option to customize.
Cons
1: No update available for trial version of diskeeper(like updating from V11.0.706 to V11.0.709)
2: Diskeeper Pro Premier V11 does not throughly defrag your hard drive.
3: Too expensive for the pro premier as it's not worth this much since it does defrag your hard drive throughtly.

"Would give it no stars if I could"
Version: Diskeeper 2007
Cons
Too slow, too intrusive , too expensive and not a patch on even the free defrags like Auslogics, which is free , faster and better presented.
Obviously those singing the praises of this clunker haven't had much experience with defrag programs

"A disaster"
Version: Diskeeper 2007
Pros
I have nothing good whatever to say about the Pro Premier version.
Cons
Having used earlier versions of Diskeeper fairly happily, I was looking forward to getting the new souped-up version, expecting at least some improvements. I downloaded the trial version and attempted to install it - at least eight times and each time yielded a plethora of error messages. All attempts to resolve the problems were futile - in fact the situation continued to worsen.
An earlier reviewer mentioned auslogics defrag program so I thought I'd give it a try. Yes, it was free. Yes, it downloaded and installed faultlessly. Yes, it was extremely easy to use. Yes, it did a very clean and thorough job of defragmenting my disks. So why would I pay big bucks for a program that I found was full of bugs?
My advice - try the freeware first! If it works, why fix it?

"Best disk defragmenter & also optimize the system performance!"
Version: Diskeeper 2007
Pros
First of all I'm currently evaluating the following version:
Diskeeper 2007 Pro Premier (11.0.703.0)
I don't know why some users reports slower boot times and problem with the program, (perhaps older versions?).
I always want to take the most of my computer, and one critical issue on Windows OS is the disk fragmentation.
I decided to try this program based on an advertisement, which lead me to diskeeper home page and read every single feature and white paper, and the 45 day evaluation demo make me give it a try.
The FragShield, InvisiTasking and i-faast patented technologies propose interesting features for better system performance and defragmentation.
(i-faast is only available on the pro premier version, and fragshield on the pro & pro premier version).
You don't need to worry about scheduling and configuring diskeeper, the default settings are configured so that diskeeper runs automatically on the background ALWAYS checking and defragmenting as needed.
Diskeeper developers states that invisitasking technology analyse the I/O request for the hard disk so that automatic defragmentation will not slow down performance and run as needed. and It's true !!! I have never noticed a single slow down on my Dell Latitude D620 (Centrino Duo 1.66 GHZ, 1 GB Ram, 80 GB HDD, Win XP SP2).
i-faast, as described by the developer is, dramatically boosts file access times through intelligent monitoring of computing patterns. Learns which files are needed most and greatly accelerates access and create times for faster overall performance. File access and creation can be increased as much as 80%, with average increases of 10-20%.
And after running diskeeper for a while it determined that my logical D drive will benefit for using i-faast and diskeeper automatically turned it on. Diskeeper reported a 18% of performance improvement and I really noticed that boost!
I've being using diskeeper for about 10 days and I can tell that the only thing I noticed is that my computer is performing better, faster and more stable.
Cons
I was tempted to give it a 5 star BUT the only cons is the price: $99.95 USD for the pro premier version, it is the only version that has the i-faast feature which is a must have to really gain more performance.
Pro version costs $49.95 USD and Home version $29.95.
And as i said earlier, pro premier is the version to go.
To bad it's really expensive the pro premier version.

"Quota capabilities effects keeper's performance!"
Version: Diskeeper 2007
Pros
Diskeeper has a lot of permissions to use , has proven and original technology. It's price is acceptable for europe..
Cons
Disk quota is very effectible on diskeeper's performance-advice:use 2007 vers. if your hdd is greater than 60GB if isn't: It is a has negative performance effect in usual usage..
diskeeper 2007 is expensive for usa(online purchase) it is expensive for you too; ! I advise you to buy older versions !

"Great software"
Version: Diskeeper 2007
Pros
-Easy to use
-automatic defragmentation
-can defrag two drives at the same time
-great performance
-uses low system resources.
Cons
none so far

"Defrags very well"
Version: Diskeeper 2007
Pros
-Allows me to schedule when I want my auto-defrag to run, so I can schedule around disk intensive times.
-The I/O throttling allows me to keep using my computer during defrag jobs
-The I-FAAST gave me a very noticeable difference after the initial defrag
What is this 4 minute increase in boot time that people talk about? I've run the gamut from Home to Pro Premier and I can't duplicate the problem--unless people are turning on the Boot Defrag, which the instructions say to schedule when the computer's not needed immediately, like a weekend.
Cons
The Home version is barely better than the Windoze built-in. Diskeeper should add more value to the home product.
