"It did what was needed - and fast"
Version: DiskDigger 0.8.3
Pros
We had lost some important photos during transfer from a Compact Flash card to network drive and with DiskDigger were easily and quickly able to recover them all. I liked the fact that no installation was necessary and that the software is free.
Cons
We had to find a card reader as the software did not recognise the camera (with the card in it) as removable media even though it showed as a device in My Computer. Direct recognition via the camera would have been a plus.

"Recovered deleted photos but not my video clips"
Version: DiskDigger 0.8.3
Pros
i tried to recover fotos and movies from my deleted 4gb SD chip. The first option recovered only the most recent fotos. The advanced search recovered (almost) everything - priceless fotos of once in a lifetime occasions.
Cons
All of my video clips were converted into jpg files - not at all the ideal outcome. This was the only drawback
Summary
This was great for recovering all fotos. But, I'm going to try 1-2 other freeware to try to recover the videos, but if i have to pony up $40-60 for the good software, I will.

"Great program!"
Version: DiskDigger 0.8.3
Pros
small, fast, easy, and does what it says, for FREE!
Cons
no cons, but it may not dig deep enough to retrieve files that were written over or formatted.
Summary
After looking at dozens of programs that charged to bring back photos
from an SD card, I found this. It works 10 times faster than one demo I tried,
and retrieved all of my deleted photos in seconds. I tried one that said it would take hours to scan, and then when the photos appeared it wouldn't let me restore them unless I paid (even though it said the photo part was free). I don't know if DiskDigger will dig deep enough to get files that may have been written over, but if you just need the last batch you took and deleted from the memory card, THIS IS IT!!!!! -
"Quick, Fast Recovery from USB and restored Image of C"
Version: DiskDigger 0.8.3
Pros
Of the four products tested only DiskDigger was able to handle this difficult tasks:
Problem: Moved Files to Desktop of Computer Lab; Quick Format on Flash Drive; Desktop Rebooted itself unexpectedly and automatically restored disk image;Cons
Would have liked an "author column" so I could just recover my files
Summary
Compact; runs from removable media; handles complicated disk recovery tasks

"Free and Usefull"
Version: DiskDigger 0.8.3
Pros
Brings your memory (cards) back to life. This card froze the pc and camera. This program aloud me to get most my pictures back.
Cons
Interface is a little odd but you get use to it.
Summary
Small file to download and very effective, how much are you memories, school or work files worth? With this free program you don't have to pay houndreds for someone to did up your files from flash drives or any xternal drive.

"Would be good if it worked more than once or twice"
Version: DiskDigger 0.8.3
Pros
Worked well the first couple of times
Cons
Would not work after the first couple of uses!
Summary
I found when I went to open it, it came up with an error which on second attempt opened successfully.
First and second times were a success, but after that it would get nearly half way
through the scan and freeze up, meaning you couldn't even close it or "End Task"
in the task manager, forcing you to restart your computer and even then it would freeze up when got to "Windows is now shutting down", meaning you would have to push the reset button!
