"Excellent P2P sharing"
Version: Direct Connect 2.20
Summary
Great stuff - no spyware, plenty of hubs, works easily, easy to figure out how to connect, etc...
And to DIGITALgimpus: yeah, if you're stupid enough to share your whole drive, well, gee, if you share your whole drive, IT'S YOUR WHOLE DRIVE! What do you expect? Make a folder/directory for your shares, don't share \Windows\, and don't share ANY drives completely no matter what! -
"Great P2P No spy ware either"
Version: Direct Connect 2.20
Summary
Great Peer to peer sharing program. Works great & users are forced to share if they want to download. You choose what files to share. I don't know why someone would choose to share their entire drive, but that would not be the fault of the software, just dumb users.

"leeches should stay away, this is a "sharing community""
Version: Direct Connect 2.20
Summary
at first direct connect seems a bit complicated but that's the case with any good thing. the biggest advantage of direct connect is the community feel to it. the fact that there are operators around all the time makes it easier to keep out those who join only to try to leech, know that on direct connect u must share or you could be banned. since all these people are kept out most users are friendly and happy to share/help others to find what they are looking for. also direct connect has been around for years but just recently has the mac client been added. so mac users come aboard.

"no spy-ware .. fast downloads.. fair"
Version: Direct Connect 2.20
Summary
Why should you be able to download anything without sharing something? DC has no spyware/adware (a few popups here and there) and is a fair p2p system. It takes a little getting used to but is the best sharing program I've found.

"Yea! Let everyone read my personal files"
Version: Direct Connect 2.20
Summary
Come on people, this is just silly. Installing a program that allows anyone to read your files. Most users who I have seen with it are sharing their entire drive! Any sicko can find your financial spreadsheets, business documents, personal address book info, etc.
How sick can you be to be using this?
Your asking for trouble.
Wiped clean off of my computer.
Go read someone else's info. -
"Goodbye KaZaA..."
Version: Direct Connect 2.20
Summary
The ability to jump to a different hub of connected users. P2P at its best!
