"Tries to redirect browser and search! Avoid!"
Version: Digital Clock Screen Saver 1.01
Pros
Works OK. Kind of ugly. Make sure it moves around the screen OK when properly set up to do so. I would definitely do this. I forgot once with another clock screensaver (it was a Russian MIG-15 clock face) and in a few weeks it had burned my LCD display permanently. It faded with time but not completely.
Cons
Important! Tries to load an adware toolbar. If you choose automated setup, it loads it without your consent. This piece of crap is especially difficult and nasty to remove. If you do get stuck with the malware, you can probably remove it with ADWCLEANER or get more help here: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-sweetpacks-toolbar/
Summary
Best as I can remember, this loads "Sweetpacks". I'm not certain because I went around that part of the install and I don't remember for sure but the comments below apply to that particularly unpleasant piece of trash (anyway as it was in 4/2013) and others like it:
The program is useful but unattractive and without EXTREME precautions, loads a scumbag tool bar which can be extremely difficult and time consuming to remove and which totally redirects all your searches, changes your home page and otherwise tries to make your computer useless. Unless you are a very expert installer and plan to take your time and read EVERY screen and are prepared to spend time removing scumware/adware browser redirection and hijacking, do NOT use this. Unfortunately, I suspect this now applies to almost everything from cnet.com. I don't know what got into these people. Some of these hijack programs should be ILLEGAL! Authors should be in JAIL! The first clue to trouble is that cnet requires it's own installer with an *.EXE file. Avoid. -
