    "Kept Crashing"

    November 23, 2007  |   By Nintendo01

    Version: Dexpot 1.4 build 472

    Pros

I got it to set up multiple desktops, but...

    Cons

Whenever I tried to switch to another desktop it kept crashing on me. The last time before I uninstalled it, it crashed on a new blank desktop and I couldn't get back to my original with my icons. Fortunately I did a system restore point before installing and it fixed the icon problem.

Note: I use Windows Blinds, so it may be the skinning that killed it, not the program itself.

    "Wonderful software!"

    September 21, 2007  |   By realrael

    Version: Dexpot 1.4 build 472

    Pros

Faster and much lighter than Virtual Desktop Toolbox. The interface is very neat and simple. I enjoy the Full-screen preview (see all your desktops at once), the Window Catalogue, minimize any app to the system tray (nice!), Always On Top, and Transparency. Very customizable. Free!

    Cons

A few of the desktop icons don't exactly get back to my desired positions, but it's something I can live with.

"Very nice - especially since it's free!"

    July 12, 2007  |   By scottmichael2

    Version: Dexpot 1.4 build 472

    Pros

I've only had it running for a few minutes, but so far so good. It just leaves me wondering, "What's the catch?!" Very nice tool for a very nice price ;-)

    Cons

Nothing so far (hopefully will stay that way!).

    "Freakin' sweet"

    July 6, 2007  |   By hatfield75

    Version: Dexpot 1.4 build 472

    Pros

    1. Easy to use

    2. It works

    3. My wife can have her own desktop page

    4. I never have to see an IE7 icon again

    5. Its stable, fast, and efficient

I love this product. Its ease of use and effectiveness are paramount. It does not affect the speed or performance of your system one bit.

    Cons

The minimum number of desktops you can have is four. I would like two. That is just nitpicking.

    "Solid and feature packed"

    May 16, 2007  |   By plg6

    Version: Dexpot 1.4 build 472

    Pros

Program is very stable and solid. Switching between multiple desktops is easy and quite useful. Despite running background programs for various research projects, Dexpot isn't at all slacked. And you can't argue the price!

    Cons

Perhaps too many features and not enough in the way of explanation as to what they're all for, nor how to use all of them. I'm sure my setup, though adequate to my needs for now is only tapping a fraction of what this software is capable of. Someone with only novice computer experience could well be quite intimidated. A comprehensive .PDF with clear examples would go a long way. But quality documentation has long been the bane of a lot of software.

    "Very good, but not perfect."

    April 27, 2007  |   By calane83

    Version: Dexpot 1.4 build 472

    Pros

The program has an intuitive interface, despite its complexity. It seems well-designed and has a small system footprint when running. And it does what it claims to do quite well.

    Cons

Annoying however, is that the program seems kind of buggy when it comes to keeping desktop icons organized. They move around on their own, don't align to the grid, and just generally don't behave the way you'd expect sometimes.

    "Be aware!"

    April 2, 2007  |   By Seventh_Amir

    Version: Dexpot 1.4 build 472

    Pros

I agree about the pros that other reviewers mentioned.

    Cons

    1) Doesn't support multi monitors. Most multi-monitor users need multi desktop software

    2) The methodology used for remembering position / hiding icons on different desktops is wrong. It has also several bugs (Icons get lost, Icons move by themselves, can’t align to grid, etc.). situation get worst if you attach the second monitor.

    "Wow, very impressed..."

    March 19, 2007  |   By Gripen40k

    Version: Dexpot 1.4 build 472

    Pros

NICE! This program has so much to offer, so many options and features, very very nice. Better than the Microsoft powertoy.

    Cons

Kinda ugly icons, wish they had an option to integrate the thing into the start bar instead of the task-tray.
