From SmartLine :DeviceLock lets network administrators specify which users can access which devices (ports, floppies, optical disks) on a local Windows NT/2000/XP or Windows Server 2003 computer. Once DeviceLock is installed, administrators can assign permissions to CD-ROM, DVD, USB, FireWire, infrared, LPT, and COM ports or to any other device, just as they would to a hard drive.
In version 5.51, DeviceLock now allows you to set permissions for Wi-Fi (802.11b) and Bluetooth adapters. A Security Settings dialog box has been added, wherein you can define additional security parameters for USB and FireWire ports. Setup protects the DeviceLock Service by allowing only members of the Administrators group or the System account to stop or delete the service. An Italian version of the user manual is available for download.
