"Great service but defaults to use CNET download manager"
Version: DesktopOK 2.64
Pros
Looks at your installed programs and offers you a one-click link to upgrading/updating the ones that are out of date.
Cons
1. CNET download manager downloads/installs the software. IT HAS TRAPS FOR UNWARY USERS that cause installation of browser toolbars and unnecessary/unwanted software. This "minefield" takes several clicks to navigate.
2. Some updates are not needed.Summary
In spite of the negatives, it does a good job of assisting you in keepingyour computer up-to-date.
TO BYPASS THE CNET DOWNLOAD MANAGER, do the following:
1. Click the title of the software, you will then be directed to the normal CNET download page for that software.
2. Below the big "Download Now" button is a small "Direct Download Link." Click that link and you will download the software directly, bypassing the CNET download manager.
Happy updating! -
"Quick and Easy."
Version: DesktopOK 2.41

Cons
None I've found.
Summary
It's pretty good.
-
"Use this version for W7 if you use the 32-bit option."
Version: DesktopOK 2.38
Pros
Worked well, once I got the correct version on my laptop.
Cons
Could use more info in the help file.
Summary
Good little tool, but would have been nice if there was more clarification about which version of this works with what, that language was chosen in advance when installing, and that there was more of a help/info page.
-
"Its sim;e and easy."
Version: DesktopOK 2.36
Pros
It takes only a few seconds to save your desktop layout.
Cons
Haven't notice any so far.
Summary
It's quick and easy. If you muck around with your desktop layout frequently and then want to restore what you had, it'll do it.
