    This is common in Windows 7 because it was not designed to be installed on Windows 7. When this happens you want to find the shortcut in your START-PROGRAMS-STARTUP folder and delete the shortcut. Then go to your C:\Program Files(x86)\Desktop Earth and find the file DesktopEarth.exe.
    Right click on it and create s shortcut. Cut or copy the shortcut back to your START-PROGRAMS-STARTUP folder and it will work like a champ when you reboot.
