Design Intuition specifications

What's new in version 1.1

  • New in 1.1: Whereas selecting objects could only be done in the design window or the Structure inspector, quite a few convenient alternatives have been added. You can now mark objects as not being selectable in several ways. You can color all your objects with one change of color to the main object. The windows now try hard to get out of each others' way. The Inspector window has been changed a lot. Preferences and other things that don't refer to objects have been moved into a Preferences window. The menus have been redone. And this just scratches the surface.
  • New Smart Lumber Objects (Please update your installed files by going to the Library inspector and clicking the enable checkbox next to the grayed-out button labeled Reinstall, then click on the button labeled Start Over.)
  • Added a Selectable checkbox to the Object inspector. When you Group some objects, you may want to see the Group, but not select it. By unchecking the Selectable checkbox for your Group, you're then able to select an object within the Group without having to use the drill down key. Another use for disabling selection is when one object gets "in your way" while you are selecting. You can disable selecting on that object.
  • Added a Don't Delete checkbox to the Object inspector. Within Smart Objects, some of the objects need to not be deleted. This checkbox offers a way to protect such objects, in a way which is under user control.
  • Move the Group/Ungroup and Rotate (CW and CCW) buttons from the Object to the Layout inspector, where they more naturally belong. Added some new buttons and made some cosmetic improvements to the Layout inspector.
  • In the 3D views, added mouse support for the right mouse button and scroll wheel, for those who have them. The scroll wheel now tilts the 3D world up and down (exactly the same as you get when you hold down the Control key down). The right mouse button combines both horizontal and vertical control.
  • Added the ability to lock the value of all currently selected attributes at a time (previously, you had to select each attribute, one at a time, to lock its value. Similar improvement for Measurement Units and for locking Expressions (see below).
