NONE since it won't work
Couldn't find any.
Wouldn't install stating I needed .Net Framework 1.1. I installed the latest version and tried again. It still states I need .Net Framework 1.1. I would really love to try this software but I can't.
It was easy to use. I downloaded the basic instructions which work perfectly.
It is not a masterpiece. It is very intuitive so one really does not need a help screen or a lot of instructions. Since that is the worse thing, I love it.
It is free! Not many of us can afford to buy software as we experiment, so thank you very much! It is easy to use. The output file works great. If I need to purchase a conversion software later, I know where to come.
it made all the process but then an error 2869 appear . how i get the solution?
I cant say anything yet
You need version 220.127.116.11 for Vista. For now you'll have to find it elsewhere on the web. There is little obvious help but software types should be able to handle it. Version 18.104.22.168 would fail to convert with the default selections in the GUI, BUT selecting the profile, "DVR-MS to MPEG with Ffmpeg" works correctly, at least on two files that I tried. Commercial cutting is known not to work in this version. There are a lot of features I haven't tried.
Version 22.214.171.124 does not install in Vista. Version 126.96.36.199 does but was not available from this site when this was written. Had to obtain from a source unknown to me, always a security risk. Help requires some digging and understanding. Not for neophytes. Commercial cutting does not work and fails the conversion in the GUI. Commercial cutting is on in the default Gui as installed so that you need to change some settings to make it work.
I use different programs for video editing. The only one that could read my Recorded TV (DVR-MS) is "My DVD - by Sonic". However, I needed to use part of Recorded TV to edit in my regular video editing programs. This is a good solution.
it seems like a great solution. i wish i could figure otu how to work it.
read the help file and still can'rt figure it out :(
Absolutely NOTHING!!! See comments below. Man this is horrible software.
I can't tell you how upset I am! This is the worst software I have every downloaded. Its so unusable. I tried several version too! oh man.. I can't tell you how much time I have wasted, and I really wanted this to work of all the software I have download. I can't believe all these reviews. I have xp as well, just so you know I have download those versions. Man..I am so put off.
no frills, no bloat
doesn't work. it DID create an mpeg file from my DVR-MS file, BUT that mpeg file had sound only - no video!!
This is a very good piece of freeware. A ten minute DVR-MS clip converted in just a few seconds to MPEG, which is supported by a lot more software than DVR-MS. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with Media Center 2005.
However, the compression for MPEG isn't very good (only about 20mb difference) but might be better for others such as WMV. Also, you have to enter the full file name (e.g. D:\Recorded TV\blah.dvr-ms)
