    "Comes with malware"

    August 20, 2013  |   By mykeeda1

    Version: DVDVideoSoft Free Studio 6.1.10.812

    Pros

The programs are great and easy to use.

    Cons

It comes with "search conduit". A malware that hijacks your internet search and homepage. You cannot uninstall using normal methods. I had to buy SpyHunter to finally get rid of it.

Why is CNET recommending a program that has malware?

    "comes with a price"

    August 20, 2013  |   By garces1

    Version: DVDVideoSoft Free Studio 6.1.10.812

    Pros

    good, effective and multi faceted

    Cons

what's up with conduit malware that is silently installed when installing this suite ? If u remove the conduit files and related crap it may be ok but this suite seems to update nearly every two weeks or less, not cool
BTW whats up with cnet wanting to access my contacts via facebook or yahoo just to post comments? I use to see Cnet as a great source but the last two years or so seems like to utilize cnet there is a price im not willing to pay and open disclose isn't part of CNET. at least be honest that you want to harvest personal info and provide a very clear opt out while still being able to use cnet, the bar of corporate honesty continues to sink with each passing year. Looks like I need to look into the disclosure of using CNET tech traker to see what other intrusive mining takes place. Very disappointing!1

    "Program installs crapware"

    August 5, 2013  |   By Captain_Fred

    Version: DVDVideoSoft Free Studio 6.1.8.725

    Pros

Maybe it works, I uninstalled before even trying given the aggressive invasion on my PC.

    Cons

Hyjacks everything without asking as most free programs do. My SYMBALOO (a super web mix program) two Yahoo tiles ended up being redirected.

    Summary

I can see that free programs try to install commercial apps to pay for their software, but only when this is done in the open. This company installs all sorts of crapware without warning - inexperienced users may find themselves deeply frustrated.

"For an All-In-One Audio/Video Suite, This Is the Best!"

    May 28, 2013  |   By MrWebAuthor

    Version: DVDVideoSoft Free Studio 6.1.1.430

    Pros

Considering the fact that this software suite does SO MANY different things AND does them very well, a thousand characters wouldn't be enough to share all the "PROS"; so let me just say like I said in the title of my One-line summary above: For an All-In-One Audio/Video Suite, This One Is Definitely the BEST!

    Cons

For the time that I've been using this software, I've yet to find any real "CONS" that're really worth mentioning. Might I say, however, that when you do the install it (as with ANY software install) ALWAYS choose the 'Custom' option instead of just the regular normal 'Install'. Also, even though you'll find numerous individual software programs that're already inside this suite, that doesn't mean that all of them install when you install the program itself. You may click on one of the programs with the expectation that it'll just automatically load, but it will prompt you to download that particular program...which is really no big deal. Once it's downloaded, it will just put itself right there in the slot it was meant to go into, so the next time you click it, it will load just fine. These are more educational suggestions than actual "CONS", but they are worth mentioning so you're not caught off-guard.

    Summary

To summarize, if you want a FREE program suite that can do it all, or at least 'nearly all', I highly recommend this program! It's definitely worth the download!

"A LOT OF BLOT SOFTWARE ADDED WITHOUT PERMISSION"

    May 23, 2013  |   By NoroTech

    Version: DVDVideoSoft Free Studio 6.1.1.430

    Pros

    Good Software.

    Cons

Comes with a lot of bloatware and browser hijacker.
Would rather pay then get free software.
    Free software is not FREE.

    Summary

It took me half a day getting rid of the lot.
    Uninstalled completely.
Advice to CNET: Remove from your downloads.
Gives a bad name to CNET reputation.
Advice to DVDSoft: Would be good for you to charge a fee and remove the list in Cons.

    "dissappointing"

    May 18, 2013  |   By Perkinsville

    Version: DVDVideoSoft Free Studio 6.1.1.430

    Pros

It seems easy enough and offers a great bundle , however the one conversion that I attempted over 20 times with different video each time left me dissapointed

    Cons

The freeware wouldn't let me complete a conversion from Youtube to DVD. Each ended with 99.93 to 99.97 complete and the burning process wouldn't start . I looked for instructions as to how to proceed none were there. I first thought I was trying to burn too many files but even two using 2 G out of 4.3 G still ended 99. and some fraction complete.

    Summary

With as many satisfied users I must be missing a step , but i reviewed the video and found no answers . I remain dissapointed
