    "Doesn't work"

    December 15, 2007  |   By matt_steinman

    Version: DVD Power Burner 2.7.1.13

    Cons

You'd think something that gets a 5 star rating from the editor's that the product would actually be good. I installed it and got the error that one of my DLL files was relocated and therefore the program wouldn't work properly. What a waste of download time.

"WARNING: This is no joke. Uninstalling this program wiped out my Laptop"

    October 16, 2007  |   By mav65au

    Version: DVD Power Burner 2.7.1.13

    Pros

As with others with experience of this software, I ended up losing everything on my harddrive after needing to perform a full reformat. Don't mess with this software. Why have they not removed it from this server yet!

    "Destroyed my OS"

    September 3, 2007  |   By Fidatelo

    Version: DVD Power Burner 2.7.1.13

    Cons

After installing this software onto Windows XP I attempted to run it, only to be prompted with a dialog saying that an important Windows System File had been modified and subsequently moved. Dismissing the dialog then just ended the program.

I then uninstalled DVD Power Burner and was forced to reboot. On restarting Windows, it blue screened. I was never able to boot XP again, receiving a blue screen every time, whether it was in Safe Mode, Last Known Good Config, or whatnot.

I have no idea how this got a 5-star review from the Editors, but this file should be removed from download.com immediately.

"DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS AS IT KILLS YOUR REGISTRY"

    September 3, 2007  |   By jamiesmith25

    Version: DVD Power Burner 2.7.1.13

    Cons

Please, take note of these reviews as they will hopefully stop you from downloading this software.

Having not taken any notice of other people I downloaded it... when you run the program it says you have to uninstall the software first. Once you have done this it says you have to re-start your machine - this is where the problem occurs...

It corrupts your registry and the STOP message comes up saying that a problem has been detected and Windows has shut down. You get options about Safe mode and restarting using previous working version, but none of these work. You just go in a loop when selecting one as when it re-starts to go into one of the options you've chosen you go back to the STOP screen.

As someone has said, on the Microsoft Knowledge Base, article 811408, it does instruct you what you can do. I am going to try this and if it works I'll let you know.

Please, please don't ignore this warning like I did as the sickening feeling you get in your stomach when your pc wont work is not a plesent one!!

"Major Warning!!! Horrible program. Do not download"

    April 22, 2007  |   By N212

    Version: DVD Power Burner 2.7.1.13

    Pros

Burned well. The Con out weighs any pros.

    Cons

Major Warning. I download this program when there was only one review from another user. I learned too late that uninstalling this program will send your computer into a blue fatal screen. Your computer will not be able to boot up even in safe mode. I had to do a restore on my C drive in order to get back to my desktop. I was lucky because all of my information was on my D drive. I didn't loose anything but my bookmarks in my browser which is nothing. I just read another user's review and he said the same thing. I check the information he gave that might help to fix it but for me it wouldn't have worked because my pc didn't come with my operating install disk. I was lucky but I could have lost all of my important documents. You had better think if this is really worth trying.
