"Great Free Program"
Version: DVD Flick 1.3.0.7
Pros
Does what it says it will do. Very easy to learn and use.
Cons
No problems yet.
Summary
5 stars because I've run into no problems. It does exactly what it says it will do, nothing more or less. I got this because I had a lot of large MPEG2 movie files on my computer that I occasionally like to burn to disc. I needed a program that would take those files and compress them enough for a standard DVD, which is exactly what this does. It isn't a burning program, it uses another burner you have installed on your computer (in my case ImgBurn) so if you combine this and another free burning program, you can't go wrong.

"Drop-outs in the audio is the main gripe..."
Version: DVD Flick 1.3.0.7
Pros
-nice menu backgrounds; wish there were more or ability to personalize images chosen.
-can edit titles, artists, etc.
-easier to use than pre-installed software on my acer and faster to use than the ms media center.Cons
a one hr. dvd created took 90 minutes to burn (i had 16 vids in the project), but every single one had audio dropouts throughout; they looked great, though...sometimes one or two, some with a dozen or more!!! vids sounded perfectly before burning!
Summary
it IS a well-designed, easy as sh*t to use program (the easiest I ever used, at least) BUT was disappointed at the end result with the audio of all the videos burned...can't even give 3 stars for good.

"Excellent DVD maker"
Version: DVD Flick 1.3.0.7
Pros
Excellent in making DVDs, gives options for setting both video and audio quality. Able to burn the dvd as well.
Cons
Does not allow one to design own dvd menu. Their predefined menus would not allow the dvd encoding to complete sucessfully. Without them the program works efficiently.

"It's Alright."
Version: DVD Flick 1.3.0.7
Pros
It works. Easy to use.
Cons
When folks say that this software is slow, they mean it takes 3 hours to complete. That is too long. Using the default features, the audio is out of sync every time. I even increased the bit rate and no change.
Summary
It's Aiiiight.

"Googled 'make DVD from AVI' and... seamless!"
Version: DVD Flick 1.3.0.7
Pros
Cleaner interface than Windows Live Movie Maker and handles AVI, FLV, etc.
Encoded 4,493,817 KB (i.e. 98%!!!) AVIs in 1:35 hours.
Note: DVD encoding takes a long time for normal PCs.Cons
None!
Warning: Without changing ANY settings out-of-the-box it creates AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders only, it doesn't actually burn the DVD.
SO remember to save your project!
(No worries: ImgBurn 2.5 did that bit (ISO9660-UDF 1.02) in 14:27 mins.)Summary
Try it. Although all I did was enter 4 AVI files and pressed a coupla buttons, I am sure the DVD burning bit, or lack thereof, was my fault. Always trust a lazy person to find a better way.

"Best I've used so far"
Version: DVD Flick 1.3.0.7
Pros
It's FREE. DVD FLICK converts from .avi. to dvd with ease
Cons
none.dvd is simply amazing
Summary
This is an excellent piece of software. the developers are saints. dvd flick makes good use of ffmpeg, it ships with imageburn and you can use it as a standalone for many .iso tasks. The most important feature for me, is the 1.3.0.0 beta version runs excellent in slackware Linux, using alien bobs wine.tgz package. The encoding time is reasonable, you have the option to create an iso image or burn to disc, adjust aspect-ratio etc. and it converts pal to ntsc. It's Open-Source and provides source code. there may be better products available, but it suits my needs perfectly, the interface is very intuitive, it produces good quality dvd's and I haven't found a linux ap yet that comes close to matching dvd flick
