DVBViewer allows you to experience Digital TV on your PC. With a proper DVB card you can enter the world of digital entertainment and experience high quality, incredibly sharp TV pictures and near CD quality radio. It contains a complete skinable HTPC front end, which allows the user to watch TV, listen to radio, check the weather or Newsfeeds without leaving the couch. It contains support for almost every DVB, ATSC or IDSB compliant adapter, reads the transmitted electronic programming guide and allows the user to record its favourite events. Even playback of all kind of multi media files or Internet streams is possible.

Pros
I use the a app since a few years and it runs fine everywhere i used it (mainly in Europe and US). The usage is simple and the hardware requirements are as low as it could be. A 4 year old machine is more than enough for watch HD and SD.
Cons
The time limitation is a bit nagging, but well it is just a trial :)
Summary
I tested a lot of applications in the past and i got stuck in the DVBViewer. There is no real competitor for TV/Radio reception and recording. MyTheatre/ProgDVB are expensive and crash all the time, no EPG if you are outside Europe. The Microsoft Mediacenter also does not work fine if you try to use it with something else than ATSC or DVB-T and Mediaportal is *uhm* a 500mb heavyweight with neat skins, but when it comes to scheduled recordings and/or free EPG without using an internet connection. Then forget it, it also crashs more often than you could count to 10. Luckily you are now able to test the DVBViewer in order to convince yourself, before you consider to buy it.
