    "Works great, but no support"

    December 25, 2014  |   By shochet

    Version: DOS2USB 1.59.84

    Pros

Does exactly what is promised, other than an occasional corruption in the printing.

    Cons

When I upgraded to Windows 8 a couple of years ago the system would not allow me to reuse the registration and I was told I had to purchase again. Could not be bothered arguing.
However 2 weeks ago I just did a routine update of Windows 8 and the program advises it needs registration. I emailed the company who promptly advised me to send the system key to get a new registration. I sent it, but I have yet to get the required code, despite a follow up email.

    Summary

Great product from a company which is not ethical.

    "Theft of Service"

    August 15, 2011  |   By tedolson

    Version: DOS2USB 1.59.84

    Pros

Works with DOS applications running in Windows.

    Cons

They sell one license for one computer, and it can not be transferred or reinstalled. If you have to reformat your HD because of a virus, you have to buy a new license. Theft, pure and simple.

    Summary

The company is in India, so they are not governed by the US laws, or even by the US morality. It is a good product, but not an honorable company.

    "Very bad aftermarket support"

    October 14, 2010  |   By andrajos

    Version: DOS2USB 1.59.84

    Pros

Look for other similar products with better support

    Cons

Do not buy it. License only works with one unchanging computer: if you hard disk fail, you lost your money.

    Version: DOS2USB 1.59.80

    Pros

    It does work.

    Cons

Any hardware change requires a new license code. I have already paid for the program and they wont send me a new license code. Old one doesn't work.

    Summary

    Dont bother purchasing...

"Don't buy this, no support, company ignores you!"

    February 22, 2010  |   By bdlipman

    Version: DOS2USB 1.59.80

    Pros

Trial version worked OK, I paid for the license key, then program stopped working and started asking for the key, company would not send key or help, and stopped answering my emails. Waste of money, so I got the better supported PrintFil program.

    Cons

No support, no response from comapny. They take your money and don't care if the product works or not.

    Summary

Product not stable. It worked for a while, then stopped, and there was absolutely no support from the company.

"doesn't deliver the goods, terrible tech support"

    June 24, 2009  |   By purpleisaid

    Version: DOS2USB 1.59.80

    Pros

it DOES print from dos to usb, no doubt.

    Cons

Lame attempt to fix issues from tech support, when they couldn't figure out solution, stopped responding to emails. Had to purchase second license when I switched computers, now customer service won't return calls. Unreliable product, waste of money

    Summary

This program will only recognize SOME dos print commands and ignores others. For business applications, this product is completely unsuitable as it is unreliable. The customer service concerning this application is nonexistent and tech support cannot fix these problems. No refund available. The worst money I've ever spent on an application. I've never felt the need to give anything a negative review until now.

"Don't buy this product, no support"

    March 26, 2009  |   By trlittle2

    Version: DOS2USB 1.59.80

    Pros

    It works fine

    Cons

I had a hard drive failure on a new (less than a year old) computer and the program no longer worked after the drive was replaced . The company does not respond to emails at all.

    Summary

Don't pay for this product. I even sent them a copy of the shipping invoice for the still under warrenty hard drive and still no response.

"Copy protected, wouldn't replace the key."

    February 15, 2009  |   By imericfoss

    Version: DOS2USB 1.59.80

    Pros

The software installs easily, works ok with one exception, and is not difficult to use.

    Cons

The software stops working when you change parts in your computer, such as upgrading a hard drive; it's copy protection seems to be tied to the computer's hardware. This is a serious defect as far as I'm concerned.

    Summary

This software is good, when it works; but if you plan on upgrading or replacing your computer, DON'T BUY THIS PROGRAM. I'm sorry to say this because it did a nice job until I replaced my hard drive. After E-Mailing the company for more than 6 months and never recieving a reply, much less a replacement key, I'd suggest finding another program. Putting a note on your site saying not to request a key very often is not an excuse for bad service, especially when only one replacement key is requested.

"A Great Solution for Rerouting an lpt1 Command to a USB Printer!"

    March 21, 2007  |   By Jen Hoy

    Version: DOS2USB 1.59.40

    Pros

I purchased DOS2USB some time ago, and want to say how much I like this product now that I have had an opportunity to thoroughly test it. I am a COBOL programmer who designs business application programs to run in a Windows environment. I use the Micro Focus COBOL compiler, and the programs I create will not run under a true DOS format. However, there are no COBOL call functions that handle the rerouting of print commands from lpt1 to the USB port. So I was especially interested to see how DOS2USB would work with my windows programs. To my surprise, it works perfectly! I am also pleased with the different options provided, such as changing font types, text color selection, font size, language support, and many other features. After installing, just select your printer by clicking on the appropriate button, select the font you want to use and play with the margin options if needed (you will know if you need to when you print something). Then save your settings. I select the option to start with windows so I do not forget to do it before running a program that requires rerouting to the USB port. DOS2USB is the perfect solution for ANY program that that requires an lpt1 command to be rerouted to a USB printer. I would pay ten times the amount charged for this product. It is well worth it.
